********January Sale-Buy any 3 records and save 20%********* ********January Sale-Buy any 3 records and save 20%******* ******* ******** Most records reduced from regular list price********* Hi Guys, Hope you all had a great Christmas! Its all over now so its back to normal and that means buying some quality soul music.....!! As is now traditional we have the January sale edition, buy 3 records and receive 20% discount......some records appear on the list for the first time but many have been listed before, hence no sales CD this month, just great records at a bargain price! Please read the list carefully....and if you want to hear anything send me an e-mail and i`ll call you back as soon as possible, I`m off work over the new year period so I should be ok to call you back pretty quickly. There is not a lot of point phoning me on my Burton number at the moment, i`m only there when i have to be, I check emails at least twice a day so thats the best way of getting hold of me! I always try to grade records accurately although its impossible to play every record, that's why I offer a money back guarantee if not completely satisfied for any reason. Gradings are as follows; M-Faultless, probably unplayed, E- Very clean and a nice copy. VG - Used but plays through ok with some light noise, great for DJing with. Please order ALL RECORDS by email, first come, first served, P&P is £1.50 for up to 2 x 45 and £2.60 per LP, obviously cheaper if you buy more than one item. Please pay by cheque, cash, IMO or by using your credit card through www.paypal.com. PLEASE PAY WITHIN 7 DAYS or risk losing your reservation.IMPORTANT;WITH EVERY ORDER PLEASE INCLUDE A NOTE STATING EXACTLY WHICH RECORD YOU ARE ORDERING,THE RECORD NUMBER AND YOUR ADDRESS, FAILURE TO DO SO WILL DELAY YOUR ORDER .Please make all cheques out to C.Anderton and send to; C.Anderton, 1 Jackson Av, Nantwich, Cheshire, CW5 6LL. I`m proud to be appearing at the Greatstone hotel in Manchester again, this time on New years eve. This is a great venue and the musical policy will be second to none. For more info on hotels/times/tickets etc check out the soul-source website. I`ll also be guesting at the Rolls-Royce club in Hucknall, Notts on Friday January 26th, looking forward to this, heard lits of good things about the venue. Just a quick mention to the Nurenberg weekender, i had the pleasure of spinning there once again last month. This event would stand up in every way against any event in the UK. The music, atmosphere and venue are faultless. There was over 700 there each night. Cheap flights are available from Stanstead and Manchester thru Air Berlin for next years event, you wont be disapointed. Have a great 2007....see you around soon...... Nurnberg 2006 John Weston Dancing Behind The Decks
Chris Anderton replied to Chris Anderton's topic in All About the SOUL
Woody, What this guy gets up to at weekenders is the stuff of legend....just one story, this year on the Friday night He was asleep behind the decks in the main room, I was DJing in the modern room, John was supposed to be on next....Dave Rimmer appeared and said "I cant wake him up, just carry on"....eventually Dave Thorley was 3 records into covering Johns set when John appeared......we all thought he had come to do his set but actually he had lost his coat and was looking for it.....he had woken up in a panic realising his passport was in the front pocket! Someone pointed out that he should be on now and ever the professional he pulled out some tunes and played a blinding spot.....! Chris -
For me it was Beano, a local guy from burton who used to go to the Wheel, top bloke, used to do the early set at Bretby for me, great taste, liked new stuff as well...still keep in touch today... Then Gilly....lent me 2000 rare 45s after i`d known him a week! Imagine what was in there, Inspirations, 4 voices, massive Detroit collection...Still see him every month, great guy who despite being a legend made time for me when i first started on the scene. Actually we have spoken about this since and all he said was "I knew you were into the proper stuff". It was great to play Melvin Davis for him the last time I was DJing at Willington..... In the Bretby years it was Steve Smith who was always one step ahead and Cliff Steele, great taste and introduced me to 70s/modern for the first time..... Laterly i love talking to John Anderson, great taste, feet on the ground and someone who really puts the whole thing into perspective for me. Chris
