  3. Hi Guys, Well we have reached list 30, and I`m happy that I`m still able to bring you some quality soul at bargain prices! Please pay promtly for records ordered from this list and i`ll do my best to get them out before i go away in search of more vinyl gold! Just a word about reserving records, please reserve all records by email, when i confirm the record is available this is your committment to buy, i will then tell all other customers the record has gone. Just lately i have had some customers ordering records then a couple of days later saying they dont want them, meanwhile i have already turned down other potential buyers. If you are enquiring about a record but not sure if you definatly want it then please tell me, i`ll hold it until you confirm but at least i can manage other customers expectations. Russ, I found Baltimore to be barron everytime i was there and it still suprises me to this day as its a 90% black town...someone must be getting all of the tunes but i dont know who...I`d put in my all time 5 crap cities of the US alongside Atlanta, Birmingham, Orlando and Dallas.. When you back home mate? Cant be too long now... Chris

  18. I would recomend my old mate Rob kay from the Willington soul nights...amazing collection, can turn his hand to anything, 70s, crossover, oldies, R&B etc...amazing collection, mixes cheapies with rarities, has great taste....and he is a lovely guy too....should get a lot more bookings...he would never let you down... I guess my recomendation would be complete by saying I have asked Rob to DJ at my wedding for a couple of hours! Chris
  19. This is like being talked about when you are sat in the same room! Thanks for the comments guys, much appreciated...... I do get quite a few spots but could always do more, especially at the more forward thinking venues. Still amazes me how i get comments about the adverts, I did 32 in total between 1997 and 2004 before i was replaced by bloody Bill Oddie. There must be some irony there as the first record i was ever bought (not gonna admit to buying it myself) was the Funky Gibbon by the Goodies! Anyway, even though i have`nt done an advert for 2 years not a soul night or nighter goes by without someone mentioning it! Ken, Sorry if i look miserable mate, Im ok when you get to know me! Chris

I picked up a different version of "Aint no stoppin us now"... all about the Philly football team going for the superbowl...same track different lyrics. I have been playing and pushing the Ebonys "I`m so glad i`m me" lately. I met Phil Hurt a couple of years ago and asked him all about Anthony White, he said the company put lots of money behind him and really tried to promote him but it just never happened for him...... Chris
  22. I met the label owner a few years ago, got some nice stuff from him, Four reputations on Millage, Emanual Laskey DT etc....Odell Bailey, lovely chap...mad as a madman but lovely. He took us to his basement and kept telling us this was "my demain...this is my demain man"!! He passed away a couple of years ago... Chris.
  23. I have never seen the book of poems Mark.....I remember one time Shifty and I went out there 2 days apart cause he was DJing or something.....meanwhile i made my way to Chicago and was finding some great tunes, we were a day late picking Shifty up in Detroit and he stayed at Bobs place, went fishing together etc....When we picked him up he was well pissed off...just sitting around Bobs place listening to his stories....but he did manage to find a nice copy of Sam Nesbit amoungst Bobs junk stuff! Chris ps, and now you`re gonna believe us.....THE RAMS ARE GOING UP!
  24. I heard back from the Journelist tonight....apparently a lot of the stock has already gone but a lot of it is going to Bobs house, as previously mentioned. He said the date for the store closing was mid Feb..... Chris.
  25. I have no more details but will try and find out. Not too many of the old Detroit stores still going now, Cappy closed about 3 years ago... Chris
