Hi Guys, Welcome along to list 38. Hope you find something of interest. Just a reminder that if you do want to hear anything feel free to put the record on hold, email me and we can arrange a time for me to play you a clip down the phone. The only reason i dont put a phone number on the list is that i use my phone for work and i really cant take calls about records while i`m supposed to be at my real job! I had some emails that seemed to go missing last time, please, if you reserve something and dont get a reply within 24 hours get back in touch....I always reply to reservations weather i have the record or its already gone. I always try to grade records accurately although its impossible to play every record, that's why I offer a money back guarantee if not completely satisfied for any reason. Gradings are as follows; M-Faultless, probably unplayed, E- Very clean and a nice copy. VG - Used but plays through ok with some light noise, great for DJing with. Please order ALL RECORDS by email, first come, first served. P&P is £1.80 for up to 2 x 45 and £2.80 per LP, obviously cheaper if you buy more than one item. Please pay by cheque, cash, IMO or by using your credit card through www.paypal.com. Please send all paypal payments to chris.soul@btinternet.com. Please make all cheques out to C.Anderton and send to; C.Anderton, 1 Jackson Av, Nantwich, Cheshire, CW5 6LL. I have aquired a quantity of nice LPs and I`ll be doing a one-off list full of LPs only. If you would like to get the sales Cd for this please email me on the usual address. I`ll be spinning at the excellent "Three Greyhounds" session in Middlewich on November 10th. The guests for this event are Maria Willingham and Greatstone main-man Mark Baildon so expect some more quality tunes this month For more info call Kev on 07746 736185. I`ll be making my debut North of the border when i guest at the Chase (Bar 33) in Bonnyrigg, just outside Edinburgh on Saturday November 17th. The other guest for the night will be Kenny Burrell. This night is the anniversary night and I`m sure it will be a night to remember, see you there! Its not too late to get a cheap flight to Nurnberg for the Weekender on the weekend of 8th December. This is the best weekend of the year for me...great music, beer and a good laugh! There are two rooms, Northern and modern and last year there were over 600 people in attendence on each night. Ok, The addresses have been email out to everyone..if you have`nt received them please get in touch and i`ll send them again.. Time to get recording and look forward to some nice tunes coming thru the letter box. Just playing Seans from last time, some nice stuff mate, really enjoying it....but though you may have included "Wade in the water"! (Someone must have done that one already?) Chris
-
OK four more added to the final list.....Total will be 28 by my maths. John McRae Steve Plumb Jerry Walsh Sean Doyle Thats it then...kept it open longer than i originally said....the CD swap is now closed. If you missed this one we will do it again in the Spring/ Summer... Remember the Theme "Big in the bedroom" or "Fave current spins"... just things you are playing around the house or car, things you have just bought or just discovered you have had for years...LP tracks, B-sides...forgotten oldies...commercial stuff...rarities....cheapies....but please dont turn it into an ego trip and do a CD of major rarities nobody can afford (unless thats all you play)! I`ll get the addresses out as soon as i can...hopefully later tonight.... Can i just ask that everyone makes the effort to get the Cds out before Xmas this time. I`ll even try and keep a checklist this time! Good luck and enjoy the tunes... Chris

Four Tops & The Temptations Concerts
Chris Anderton replied to Tomangoes's topic in All About the SOUL
The concerts are as entertaining as they have always been and they are in the studio and consistently recording new material. To label the group as simply a tribute act or even worse as a franchise is doing them a great dis-service, if you can't imagine the tempts without Ruffin and Kendricks then this isn't for you but if you can accept that a group goes through changes in its lifetime the concert is worth attending. Now the tops is a different matter, they were together so long without changes I can understand where the want to see them isn't there. They are still an enjoyable group to see and Theo Peoples does a sterling job in Levi's lead but no-one can ever replace Levi. .............................. Well said Sean, I agree with every word...still a great night out...... Chris -
PS: I've an address list which my faithful PA, Stephanie, is using to despatch with, however, I'm unsure if its kosher. If someone could forward me a current list I'd be much obliged.
-
Guys, I`m sorry some people didnt send theirs out last time, to be honest thats just not on...If someone can provide me with a list i`ll ensure these people are`nt included in this swap. I am glad to run the swap again from the point of view of collating the names and addresses etc but really cant keep tabs on everyone who should have sent a Cd out.... I think we will keep the number to 30 as we tried a smaller number the first time and got inundated with people wanting to be in....tell you what we will say 30 max and keep it open for 2 days, gives everyone a chance... I`ll post a new thread for the new swap....probably over the weekend...... Still need a theme...? The Manship book one would be a toughie....how about, "the last 20 records I have bought" or "The best stuff i have bought/ discovered in the last year" or "the best double-siders"?? Any thoughts? Cheers, Chris
-
Mike Jemmison "I want some satisfaction" on Geneva...been spinning this at the Three Greyhounds and already had some interest........... Chris
-
OK Guys...Its that time of the year again...who is ready for another CD swap??? I`ll post up next week on a new thread and we will see who is interested again... Meanwhile...how about a theme....any ideas? Chris.

Flamingos 70's Version Of Lover Come Back
Chris Anderton replied to Dave Thorley's topic in Look At Your Box
Just tried one thru ebay at a tenner with no takers....I dont actually think its that good, and i dont really think its a version of the other Detroit "Lover come back"....its actually a recut of their 1959 doo-wop hit of the same name i believe... Sorry Dave, its all about opinions! And no, i have`nt got one for sale at a tenner! Chris
