  1. Don't think anyone will learn much from my attempt but it is what i'm playing at home! Sorry for delay ............. Dont put yourself down mate, i`m sure there will be some great tunes on there. Thats a good thing about this thread, they dont have to me rarities or even obscure cheapies, a good tune is a good tune and We are all guilty of forgetting tunes we once loved..... Mine were posted today, so some of you will get them tomorrow, some in a couple of days...nothing amazing, some obvious stuff, some stuff i discovered under the bed last week, some DJ spins....etc Chris.
  2. Just burning a few more now, all should be in the post tomorrow (Tuesday) without fail...but i ran out of 1st class stamps so some have a 2nd class stamp on them...sorry! Chris
  3. I sold a copy from a recent list at £100.00....had one call on it....... Where were you? Chris
  4. Recorded my little effort tonight just burning them off now...should be out before the weekend. I decided to keep true to the theme and really put things on the Cd that I`d just picked up, just heard or just rediscovered...mainly 70s and crossover.... Cheers, Chris ps, anyone keeping a count? We need to name and shame those who receive but dont send this time...!
  5. For me Otis is the reason i`m here...he started it all when i played my Dads Otis Lps, still the king and those tunes still make my spine tingle... Just the other day i played a few tunes off the same Lp...(My Dad hasn`t noticed it missing!!) and had the same feeling in my soul i had 20 odd years ago when i played stuff like "Down in the valley", "Cigerettes and coffee" "A change is gonna come", "Thats how strong my love is" etc etc... Chris
  6. I priced my copy after Shifty sold one at around the same price, does`nt seem to turn up but then again its not in Johns guide. I would have kept my copy but after playing it a few times i thought it was not good enough to play out. Just my opinion....but pleasent enough... Chris
  7. worth one last look..................
  8. btw I've still have only received about 11 or 12 so still loads to come - what date is the 'cut off then name and shame date' Chris? ............ Well Steve, as we said before Xmas, and considering the fact that i aint done mine yet (have sorted all the tunes out though) we will say all must be received by Jan 1st... Chris
  9. Bloody Hell..scored ten first time around!! Guessed a couple but not bad... Chris
  10. Now updated.....Buy some soul for Christmas!!! Hi Guys, Thanks to everyone who ordered from the extra "LP only" list, I had been thinking about doing this for some time and it proved both popular and successful. Look out for next months list when i will have something very special in store for my usual January Sale Special! I always try to grade records accurately although its impossible to play every record, that's why I offer a money back guarantee if not completely satisfied for any reason. Gradings are as follows; M-Faultless, probably unplayed, E- Very clean and a nice copy. VG - Used but plays through ok with some light noise, great for DJing with. Please order ALL RECORDS by email, first come, first served. P&P is £1.80 for up to 2 x 45 and £2.80 per LP, obviously cheaper if you buy more than one item. Please pay by cheque, cash, IMO or by using your credit card through www.paypal.com. 15. Sorry Liam, The list was closed several weeks ago...we will be doing another around spring time mate, hope you can join in then. Cheers, Chris
  16. Guys, Can we all make a committment to get these sent out by Xmas? I dont think thats too much, after all we will have had two months at it! Enjoying the ones i have so far...mine should be out next week sometime. Chris
  17. Made me laugh when i turned up at Bonnyrigg on Saturday, one guy said "I always imagined you as being much older"! I said, "When i was DJing at 19 i was the youngest, now i`m 38...I`m still the youngest"!! Chris
  18. I've always wondered about Salt Lake City though. It's too far from anywhere to get there easily and I know it's full of Mormons but I just have a gut feeling LOL........ Any youngsters out there? ................ Yeah...Randys records in Salt lake city..was there a couple of years ago...found some nice stuff, nothing amazing......but still nice soul 45s... Chris
  19. I guess mine are a couple of weeks away...put out an additional sales Cd and list this month so time has been limited.... But for me thats the fun, some days getting two and then waiting a couple of days for another... Some tasty stuff...just playing Jerrys as i type! Chris
  20. Now there's a YouTube clip in the making Chris, you've got me all curious now....a dummy called 'Cockroach' - beginning to sound like a cult classic already Jo .............. Yeah the dummy plays straight man to Ernies "jokes"....makes me cringe everytime i think about it... I think Ernie had this cock roach theme going on throughout his careeer, bit of a trademark/ catchphrase kind of thing...... Chris.
  21. In case you haven't heard the story behind the Parisians, apparently the singer was a bit doolally, would only perform when allowed to wear his glove puppet of a cockroach (!!) which he'd actually sing to, listen to the b-side and you'll get the idea!! A-side seldom strays from my playbox, a lot of people in Lavaronne just heard this for the first time.... ................. I think that story may have changed over time... We met the producer a few years ago, Ernie Fields...he was a big TV variety show guy, but in the past was involved with records....the B-side one of the versions is called "Cock roach" and he did this appalling TV show where a dummy called "Cock roach" and he would crack gags together..followed by about 30 seconds of canned laughter...I remember him insisting that Al and I watched the show...we sat there pissing ourselves..not at the show but at how bloody terrible it was, still got the DVD at home...came across it the other day and it brought back some memories..... Oh Yeah...took a few copies of each version from him too....still have my traditions, the best version. Chris.
  22. Please email all orders or enquiries to chris.soul@btinternet.com Thanks.
  23. Updated and prices reduced............
