Baz, Not sure its killing the scene but i agree it should be all in one room....I always feel I`m missing something at these 2 room events. Chris
-
Cheers for that Jordi...I dont know it, is it any good? Should be a good one in Derby on Sunday mate, look forward to having a beer and a catch up. Cheers, Chris

Rick Thompson "What do i have to do" Columbia Anyone any idea of a value of this? Cheers, Chris

i`d openly encourage anyone to copy any Cd I`d done for them, either personally or as part of a venue promotion. As was mentioned earlier wider knowledge of tunes equals more knowledgeable punters asking for different requests equals moving the scene along one more notch.... Chris

Just re-doing my Sales Cds list and realise i have a few vacancies. My sales Cds come out a few days before the actual main list. They contain between 50 and 60 sound clips of some of the tunes omn my sales lists. (about 90 seconds of each record) This way you get first chance to see what is on the next list but you also get to hear some clips of tunes you may not have heard before. The cost of my sales Cds (Midas Touch records) is only £5.00 for 3 monthly Cds anywhere in the world. I accept paypal/cash or cheque as payment ....my paypal address is chris.soul@btinternet.com Only a fiver for 3x monthly Cds...its got to be a bargain! Chris.

Professer Rimmer, My text to you read "What was the first Motown number one in the UK"? No mention of labels or such like. I said it was Smokey because thats what Wiepedia said but my answer on the sheet in the quiz was "baby love" and it was right so who is the muppet now?! Anyway what you been playing the Richie Adams for, not been shedding out another load of cash for a played out oldie have we!? I always buy you a pint anyway...have done for 20 odd years...and still waiting for one back! See you soon.. I`m not playing this any more... Chris.

My boss has got involved with some charity work and asked me if i`d do a soul night for his charity....just comercial stuff, motown, but of well known northern etc...."No problem" says I.....then he said "and i`ve got a bloke who will do a Frank Sinatra tribute act for an hour half way through"! I told him where he could get off...probably not a smart move an hour before my appraisal!!! Chris.

WASN'T ON MOTOWN You muppet ........... Dave, Strangely Wikepedia or whateve its called gives this information about the first motown record to get to number one in the uk.... "The Tears of a Clown" is a 1967 song by Smokey Robinson & the Miracles for the Tamla (Motown) label, originally released on the 1967 album Make It Happen. The song was re-released in the United Kingdom as a single in September 1970, where it became a number-one hit on the UK singles chart. It was the first Motown hit ever to reach # 1 in Britain. Subsequently, Motown released "The Tears of a Clown" as a single in the United States as well, where it quickly became a number-one hit on the Billboard Hot 100 and Black Singles Chart. This song is an international multi-million seller and a 2002 Grammy Hall of Fame inductee. The single's success caused Miracles lead singer/producer/songwriter Smokey Robinson, who had announced plans to leave the act, to stay with the group until 1972." Cant all be right can we mate!? Chris.

3,000,000 Records At A Bargin Price
Chris Anderton replied to Dave Thorley's topic in Look At Your Box
I just had this email from a major US dealer...i have left his details off as I`m not sure it was for public viewing...Chris "This was a hoax, a scam and the sale did not take place. It is a huge pile of nothing and was hyped to the moon. The "Buyer" used a stolen eBay identity and the underbidders were fake as well. It did not sell and never will...this guy is LUCKY if he has 5,000 decent records out of all that pile of crap...... Game over," -
Rimmer??? You`re having a laugh......!! I was in a pub quiz last week..."what was the first Motown number one in the UK" came the question...... All my mates look at me, "Baby love" says I...but I`ll send a sneaky text to my mate Dave, he knows everything.... Comes the answer "The four tops- Reach out"!!!! Luckily i went for my own answer...amoungst a load of texted excuses from the "Encyclapedia of soul"!!! Chris.

3,000,000 Records At A Bargin Price
Chris Anderton replied to Dave Thorley's topic in Look At Your Box
Every time we went through his books and found something of interest he would check and say "I only have the file copy left, and i wont sell the file copy"...I asked to have a look at the "file copy" on a few things or offered him 3 times what he was asking but he didn`t come through.... The prices were all over the place...i did get a couple of things, Beverly and Del capris for $40 sticks in my my mind. When i say he is a loon..I mean it in the nicest way, a bit excentric. He had a lot of records but you couldn`t look through them they were all behind the counter, there was rack after rack of them but who knows whats there. I have seem millions of 45s before....and I`ve seen millions of shit 45s before too! Chris.
