  1. Ordinary Guy was the track for me...............thanks for samples..............
  2. Just to say its Ian's return to the 100 after 12 years isn't it but He has dj'd elsewhere in between I am sure. Certain he dj'd in Essex within the last two years as I heard him there - Mick Love's do ? If its the start of other dj-ing spots, then can only add weight. Anyway, will cause great interest and well done the 100.
  3. I was pleased to see a new dj added to the line up, given a first opportunity - as you say Ian is a large figure and will doubtless pull some rabbits from hats - but the new blood needs more opportunities imho.............
  4. Ok few records for OFFERS, please make a sensible offer for consideration by mail on here. I've had them a while and want them in good homes now - so if its a cheeky offer give it a shot ! Payment by PayPal as gift, but you can pay December 31st or later if you require (by agreement). All are original releases : Aalon Butler And The New Breed - Its Got To Be Something - PKC Pat Clayton - Someone Else's Turn - Silver Tip Turley Richards - Need To Fall In Love- 20th Century Venturas - Baby Be Mine - Daniels All play VG+ or better. Thanks. Advertised elsewhere so first come etc..........
  5. Thanks Marc, not that I have seen (in my hand) any yellow copies, but that's good to know.........
  6. Hi Boba, I only knew that record existed last couple of years as a Yellow demo copy, distributed by Wheelsville. Pray For Me, the b side is on You Tube. Never seen one for sale but it defo exists as we can see............. https://youtu.be/ENeM3coP2Ng Rarer than the issue, it seems, so gotta be priced above.........
  7. That's great news Flynny, the leg work paid off.............. You can't argue with legal re-issues [i'd still have put some small note on the label maybe]
  8. Enjoy the 45 myself, bit sad to see it booted to be honest, label bares no copyright or authorised notices...........so is no money finding its way to the artists / writers ? Will try to locate the info on Dave Flynn site (via Des) ........
  9. Thanks Ady, reply appreciated. I think you are correct in that there are numerous types of buyer, there reasoning differing, and I guess the market does dictate what's working or otherwise................
  10. Trying not to pick on specific re-issue labels, but I notice that more and more "rare" and in some cases not so rare 45s are being pressed up on re-issue labels. What's the reasoning behind issuing these tracks if they can still be found on original 45 ? Are there no other tracks to release ? Is it to license officially and try to pass funds to the artist, writer and or publisher ? Is it just to keep issues coming out on the re-issue label ? Is it to make some money as these tracks sell more easily ? Some other reason ? Such as making the track available to the market - even though its probably already there on mp3.... I totally understand and support the issue of unreleased material on a 45. That's adding something new to the 45s market. Just interested what people think on this area, issues around it. I know the release of re-issues isn't new, so would hope we can discuss the current position................. PS Just so I don't get shouts of hypocrisy, I have bought some myself !
  11. I am sure many of these records, listed early seventies, may well have changed in value due to the benefit of perspective.........................that is items have proven to be rarer than first thought................or conversely more common.......
  12. I think they do Mace, I have heard people discussing whether events are OVO and also djs - not always the main issue - might be sound system, floor also etc...........but yes defo heard such chat.........
  13. At Derby Alnighter, the records on one deck in Room 2 were projected onto a screen for the audience to view or ignore .............. I thought it was great to see the 45s spinning....................
  14. Agreed with that, I have some re-issues - boots and dubs ; but they are for home use (used to be on the juke box until it stopped working).........and saved wearing out originals............but playing out, imho, has to be OVO.........otherwise you can follow a logic to sticking on an mp3 player........every event and every dj becomes the same and I just can't see the point in (and wouldn't want) that.
  15. Besides the rest of the book Pete, do you think that quoted content is true ?
  16. 1,200.00 USD = 771.258 GBP US Dollar British Pound 1 USD = 0.642715 GBP 1 GBP = 1.55590 USD
  17. US $1,200.00 Oct-09-11 00:53:28 PDT
  18. "So off I went to Wigan (Casino).................They were playing an awful lot of pressings.................Stuff out on Jay Boy, etc.........I thought this is crap. The Mecca has the best rarities, which to be fair, it did at the time. " [september 1973] Paul McKenna - Nightshift So this first hand account (if accurate) indicates pressings have always been played. As times change, perhaps the OVO position has been become more honed of late ? And times do change
  19. More pictures have now been posted..................
  20. Matrix Details MMLAHT I AM in triangle at 9pm 45-YB-348-P1 at 12pm JYD I AM in triangle at 9pm 45-YB-348-P1 at 12pm My also has Carl Fortnum in the run out groove so I guess he owned it at one point. I highlighted the current one on EvilBay to Bearsy after recently purchasing mine. I advised to approach with caution for the following reasons, hence question followed on here : 1. The image was bad quality. Sellers of rare records normally make the effort to provide fully ledgible scans. Further I had noticed a previous sale attempt and emailed the seller to ask : a. Why the previous sale fell through b . Was the label colour red or purple ? I seemed to think their may have been a red label boot - this seems to be incorrect c. What was the reserve price ? d. Could he provide all the run out details from both sides His reply was "its $26 you can now bid" - no other points covered... Thats bound to raise suspicions............. Buyer beware with an unhelpful seller. Everything that can be seen in the scans looks right, except for the part below the Side A and Side B which looks a bit long ie may have more characters, but you just can't tell from the poor scan......... Anyone else get a better response from the seller ?
  21. "citing only tunes that were played in Wigans early years" Many of you on here have the history far beyond me, but the above can only be totally and utterly false.............nothing before or after Wigan ? Perhaps it was a throwaway comment...............
  22. Great read and pix , thanks..........
  23. No, highly unlikely and would most likely result in half the room standing up as the other half sat down - based on current entrenched views and opinions............
  24. Found the answer, maybe useful for others : You have 45 days from the payment date to open a dispute. Common reasons for opening a dispute include: You paid for an item but haven't received it and the seller is uncooperative or nonresponsive. You received an item that was significantly different from how it was described.
  25. Hi, I will go read PayPal - but someone may shortcut........ If I made a PayPal payment (to a USA seller) and I wish to recall the money, how many days do i have from the actual payment date to do so ? Thank you
