Disagree with the highlighted, purely because I don't think I have a juvenile ego :-) Maybe I do lol C*ck waving ? Yes maybe there is an element of this in that djs want exclusives, well imho the best ones do because it splits them from the herd.............so long as they are good records of course and they can actually dj :-) I cover up 45s to add some fun to the set, to continue what I feel is part of the Northern Soul dj culture and tradition, to chase and track records that are danceable exclusives (even if short lived). Some will be rare, some not, and hence the cover up to saviour a few plays before that exclusivity is lost. That won't change any time soon There is no disrespect to the Artists intended in anyway and the cover up doesn't usually last long regardless; those that want to often unearth them after a relatively short time. Resources are powerful these days.

which tunes do you expect to receive either new action on the Main floors or strong debuts in the second / rare rooms ........... ?

Darrell Banks - Open The Door To Heart / Our Love (Is In The Pocket) as its a hot topic at the moment I thought I would share a rather sad tale of the copies I had of the studio Acetate(s). I bought some 8 years ago a set of 10 LPs which were Acetates from the Golden World Studio itself. Some of them are stamped Reference from the Tapes......... They cover mainly Ric Tic, Wingate and Golden World singles - one has 6 takes of Agent OO Soul for example.... but on one LP Acetate labelled is both sides of the 45 Darrell Banks - Open The Door To Heart / Our Love (Is In The Pocket). Sadly the first two tracks on the Vinyl on Metal Acetate have fallen apart............unplayable. Now I thought my luck was in for on the back of another (unlabelled) appear the 2 tracks again...this time the first track is ruined and the second plays up until a sticking point (which I may fix). I wasn't bothered about the value, just that the history on the actual disks fades to dust ............

I agree with this Dave and think its easily forgotten. Its hard work trading up, saving up and then finding and acquiring they tracks you love.............labour of love of course but still ............
