  1. It looks like the insurance company will go with a 'graduating' scale of insurance. ie: 100 £10-ers @ x? amount. 100 £100-ers @ x? amount. That sort of thing. When the full details are released I'll let you know. It will cover worldwide insurance as well, not just UK
  2. I've just got in from a few beers and went to KFC opposite Liverpool Street Station for a zinger burger. The piped music played Tony Clarke- Landslide, a version of Solomon Burke's-Cry to me (not the ballady one by Betty forgot her name) & Rose Batiste-Hit & Run. Good to hear stuff like that 'out' even though I'm not a Northern bod. My bubble was burst though when the cab home had I Will Survive playing. Just as well it's only a short journey!!
  3. Thanks for all your comments. . I'll let you know the result of her report when it's finished. Cheers
  4. I recently paid £125 for one. Have seen it for more, if that's any help.
  5. Thanks for your input so far. I'm sure this will all come in use . What about other less obvious issues like: Should you insure expensive headphones/equipment, loss of earnings through cancelled gigs etc?? Your views and points are appreciated. Cheers
  6. A friend of mine who's in insurance, has been asked to commission a report by their underwriters. They're looking into the idea of insuring DJ's/records/equipment etc. ie: Do you already have insurance? What % of the value is the premium? Are you covered only for gigging or home cover? These sort of things. Doesn't just have to be DJ's suggestions, but collectors as well. I'm meeting her on 30th November,so all suggestions before then would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. title amended. Shane
  7. Well done for getting a replacement so quickly Ali. Shame as I was offering to swap my Pattie Ward. Yes the one I bought less than 2 weeks ago!! I knocked it onto the floor and watched in disbelief as a lovely chunk came flying off it . Could've been worse though: My Three Prophets was next in line to fall
  8. Cheers Steve. Don't s'pose you got one??
  9. ''I want to be love'' -Jerri. How much is one now please??
  10. I've never seen the Soundscape one, but never really looked to be honest. Up until recently there was loadsa Cheri ones about, so you should get hold of one of them easily. See you next weekend. Oh, happy belated Birthday. The Cheri version:
  11. Yes the Wilson Pickett is easy to get on a 7" and a great choooon This should get played out I reckon: Bettye Scott & The Del Vets- Good Feeling on Teako

  13. https://cgi.ebay.co.uk/BOBO-MR-SOUL-HITCH-H...1QQcmdZViewItem Quality for a fiver. I always preferred the flipside though. A brilliant version of Archie Bell's 'She's my woman, she's my girl''
  14. I missed this version on Ebay- Went for a tenner!! Plumby had one a little while back for £70. I do have JPR's though which I stroke tenderly at nights. Ooh ooh, cue to play it on my show now.
  15. Margie Joseph 'One More Chance' 45 -£60 Marvin Smith 'Who Will Do Your Running Now' (Mayfield) 45 £120 Toby Kang (Chelsea) LP £200 Mark, these were the prices I paid earlier this year for the above. The last 2 were probably a bit over priced though.
  16. What's that one tune you've been after for ever and a day?? The one that has eluded you for longer than you can remember? Maybe it's one that you see, but can't/won't pay the money. It could be a cheapie that you never see anywhere. My one is probably Brad Lundy-I want to share.
  17. Nice one Simon. I'm working at home this week so finally got to listen in. The repeat show was never a convenient time to listen in, so it's nice to see more repeats now. Grace Jones seems to be getting a bit of a revival at the moment. A future £100-er ?? Lovely bit of Philly as well
  18. Marvin Smith on E Bay: https://cgi.ebay.com/MARVIN-SMITH-RARE-NORT...1QQcmdZViewItem
  19. Paul Capon has one for £60
  20. Go through the correct channels to get your money back AND leave the negative feedback. If your rating is good, people see that it's an obvious retaliatory comment left in return. I've had the same trouble with 'littlemoscow'. I paid immediately, waited 3 weeks, sent two reminders, then after E bay got involved they decided to refund my money and tell me the item was no longer in stock. (A re-issue 7"). I gave them a neutral feedback and they returned one. They've had 33 negatives this year. I've had none. You can see straight away who's wrong. Be bold and shame them. In case you missed the name of the E bay bad guys. It's littlemoscow
  21. Here you go:
  22. Oh, get there early doors as the response has been overwhelming with people coming from Bristol, Colchester and the South Coast. It's gonna be a good 'un
  23. And another nice version.....
  24. Bobby Shannon was Bobby Patterson, wasn't he?? I think this one came later
