From the Walden Artists and Promotions / Paragon estate. Contract (reg. # 106780) for an appearance by Eddie Floyd at the Durham Civic Center, Durham, North Carolina. Performance date Christmas Day, 1966. Package consists of original contract outlining fees, deposit, venue details and terms and conditions. Mel and Tim - original performance contract (South Hill, Virginia). From the Walden Artists and Promotions / Paragon estate. Contract (AGVA registration # BC 52235) for an appearance by Mel and Tim at the Colonial Club, South Hill, Virginia. Performance date May 1973. Package consists of original contract and a deposit rider, outlining fees, deposit, venue details and terms and conditions. Both contract and rider signed by the artist. The contract date coincides with their second recording year at Stax, when they were actively releasing 45s. Peggy Scott and Jo Jo Benson - performance contract (Jekyll Island, Georgia). From the Walden Artists and Promotions / Paragon estate. Contract (AGVA registration # BC 33904) for an appearance by Peggy Scott and Jo Jo Benson at Jekyll Island, Georgia. Performance date November 1972. Package consists of original contract, three in-house office carbon copies and four deposit rider copies, outlining fees, deposit, venue details and terms and conditions. Early Blues and Soul Issue 21 (July / August 1969). A twenty-four page issue including articles on the progression of soul music, a Drifters feature highlight and discography, photos of Smokey Robinson and the Miracles, Dave Godin commentaries, adverts of UK soul labels of the day such as Action, Soul City etc. and much more. This contract is from the Kelly Brothers' recording period for the SIms label, approximately four months before the release of "Crying Days Are Over" and the year before their move to Excello. An original performance booking contract (AGVA # BC 24944) for an appearance by Tyrone Davis at Club 436 in Altomonte Springs, Florida. Performance date February 1972. Joe Simon - original 1967 performance contract (Dublin, Georgia). From the Waldon Artists and Promotions / Paragon Agency estate. An original performance booking contract (AGVA # 106890) for an appearance by Joe Simon at the American Legion Post #573 in Dublin, Georgia. Performance date February 1967. Details of show times, rehersal, fees, terms and conditions, and deposit requirements are referenced. This contract is from Joe Simon's period at Sound Stage 7, just two months after his release of "Travelin' Man" for the Nashville label and the same year as "The Girl's Alright With Me".

An original performance booking contract (AGVA # BC 33846) for an appearance by Clarence Carter at the National Guard Armory, Woodruff, South Carolina. Performance date September 1972. This contract is from Carter's period at Atlantic The Van Dykes - original 1966 performance contract (Brevoort Theatre, Brooklyn NY). From the Walden Artists and Promotions estate. Performance booking contract (AGVA # 106444) for a July 1967 appearance at the Brevoort Theatre, Brooklyn. A number of R&B / soul orientated acts played this venue, including Motown, Scepter and Brunswick artists, before its closure by the end of the decade.The appearance was four months before their recording of "Save My Love For A Rainy Day" for Mala. Otis Clay - original performance contract ("The Club", Dawson, Georgia). From the Waldon Artists and Promotions / Paragon Agency estate. An original performance booking contract (AGVA #BC 43208) for an appearance by Otis Clay at a venue in Dawson, Georgia . Performance date February 1973. Details of show times, fees, terms and conditions, and deposit requirements are referenced. This contract is from Clay's period at Hi records in Memphis, and when he appeared on Soul Train. An original performance booking contract (AGVA #107600) for an appearance by Eddie Floyd at a venue in Durham, North Carolina. Performance date July 1967. Details of rehearsal and show times, fees, terms and conditions, and deposit requirements are referenced. This contract from Eddie's early Stax years is dated within a year either side of the releases of "Knock on wood" and "Raise your hand". Atco press release / bio - Mary Wells "Two Sides" Atco LP (1966). In-house US Atco press officer's bio, used to promotional copies of the 1966 LP "Two Sides of Mary Wells". Would be sent out with promotional copies of the LP to magazines and other areas of the music industry. Originally from the collection of Roy Carr, music journalist who joined the New Musical Express in the late 1960s and was later editor of the same publication, Vox and Melody Maker. Marquee Club Programme Flyers - May to August 1965. Set of four programme flyers for the Marquee Club in Wardour St., London for dates May to August 1965. Each highlights events and news on one side, including the announcement of a visit from Solomon Burke for a June 1965 concert. Also lists appearances and dates for the respective month on the reverse. Nice piece for soul and 60s british R&B / jazz collectors, as well as a useful historical resource.

An original performance booking contract (AGVA #107171) between the agency and Super Attractions of New York for series of appearances by Arthur Conley in New York, Washington DC, Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee. Package also comes with a rider attached to the contract detailing venue locations and show times. This particular contract is historically significant, as it marks the exact months during which "Sweet Soul Music" reached #2 in the Hot Top 100 Billboard and the Billboard Hot R&B single charts. The intention of this series of appearances was to promote the record nationally. The document derives from the middle of her period with Alston label, within a year or so of "Clean Up Woman" and "I'm Gettin' Tired Baby". The contract package contains the orginal contract, three office carbon copies and three deposit riders. The contract and copies are all signed by the artist.
