  1. I've spent so long looking for some tunes that once you get your hands on 'em years later you wonder why the f**k did I want that! Tastes change I suppose....
  2. Don't understand the difference between a debit/credit card linked to a paypal account and a bank account linked to paypal.......Does this mean I have to shovel money into the paypal account itself to not get charged the 4% when buying. What if I have a bit in the paypal account and a bit off my card....
  3. Oh yeh then I got Harold Burrage 50 50 for a dollar on the reception desk of a dodgey Norman Bates motel in NJ a year later!
  4. Charisma Band 50p at an Edinburgh car boot sale about 15 years ago. Two mates of mine got Tommy Navarro and Tony Middleton for about 20 cents at a car boot type market in New Jersey in the early 90s (out of the same box as well I think!)...
  5. I know this has been released on 2 labels (?IX and Sounds of Memphis-MGM). From memory these are two versions (SOM one earlier?), but no sound clip specifically on the SOM version (which I think was the superior one), anybody kind enough to post? Cheers, Mark
  6. Look at the state of half the stuff on Shrine, not water damaged but the labels are shagged!
  7. Could be, maybe they had a thing for the O'jays (did No time for you)....
  8. BANANA SPLITS! Not the theme tune, but the bits they played during the programme, soulful as f**k! Think they even had an LP out, theres some stuff on youtube!!!
  9. How much did Tony Colton go for?
  10. Agree difficult to tease out the collector / DJ thing. Gets a bit complex and people have been mithering about this for years. Depends on the venue also, if it has a selective rather than (hate the phrase!) across the board policy, etc. the collector really comes into his (or her) own. People need to remember collectors (alongside a few inspirational DJs, no names required) essentially saved the scene throughout the 80s and kept it going when it almost disappeared up its own anal passage, through the whole newies and lesser played thing. Think collectors were pivotal to reinventing the scene then. The Scottish scene was a shining example of this. Yey to anoraks I say. Mark
  11. Roy Hamilton for male defo again, particularly any of his beat ballads but even his standards are truly soulful: try the Sinner! Heartaches hurry on by reduces me to tears...... Mark

  18. Or Mad Lads on Volt...........
  19. Hi Rich, yes correct flip. I've got the Acid LP (damn good whether northern or latin is your flavour!), though unfortunately an 80s reissue. The 45 though looks v. 'real' and v. similar to a Joe Bataan white demo I got from the US and I'm pretty familiar with the Fania label (was and still am a big boogaloo fan!). I remember this with fondness being thrashed out on the Scottish scene in the 80s, wonder if Keith Whitson/Jock or similar played it off a 45 demo? Anybody got an issue or were these all demos? Is it just me or do I feel a whole new latin soul revival kicking off again with various things on Cotique/Fania/Tico etc being picked up again.... Mark
  20. Value anybody, picked up a dirt cheap Fania demo recently (45 not the LP) but can't find it listed Cheers Mark
  21. Are all these wonky, I've had 2 copies and both are pressed off centre...
