  1. From memory was SOS 12 " with Voices from East Harlem - Cashing in
  2. Already given my most soulful ever earlier (Rance Allen) - however seem to remember someone mentioning Freddie Scott 'Hey girl' at the start of the thread - there is a utube clip on this, Freddie does a live televised recentish version (recent as in at least 15 years ago) at some very 'steady' US venue, with old gimmers in the audience (like many of us, though I'm only 43 mind you I hasten to add) - but bloody hell moved me to tears if you take time out, have patience, and listen to the full 4-5 odd mins....
  3. Huge feeling of nostalgia attached to Shades of Soul for me, I came into the scene in the early 80's well before internet soul and think I remember Pete McKernan et al as the main 'sellers ons' for these at all Scottish dos. This mag truly ended up being part of my reference material for many future record buys for at least the next ten years. Was embryonic anorak stuff in the making! Still have em!
  4. Need the original on this please: Otis Rush - Keep on loving me baby - Cobra Pm me with a price and condition, thanks, Mark
  5. Hi folks, for sale, one that doesn't pop up every day..... Ascots - Another day - Mir-a-don £500 SOLD Would conservatively grade this vg++ and would be Ex if not for some very minor crackles here and there (and a wee bit of biro as per scan), which are essentially inaudible over decks. Grade-wise, those who know me will know I'm overly-anal over owt less than ex. cond., especially things of this calibre.... PM me if interested Cheers, Mark
  6. Anyone, STILL looking for this! Buddy Ace - This little love of mine - Duke #325 Cheers, Mark
  7. Mine swooshes a little, I thought they were all like that but some louder than others? Might be wrong. Haven't played it out yet, anybody know how noticeable it is on the decks?
  8. Sorry Russell, horses for courses but I must disagree, bit of a 'Nowhere to run' rip-off it may be but its a genuinely fantastic record, the oldie-but-goodie type that could easily get thrashed out again get revived and still be respected! Probably why it went in a couple of hours of me posting my copy for sale last night....( I needed the money)
  9. Weekly call out for this, somebody must have one ! GAY POPPERS - I WANT TO KNOW - FIRE Pm me with condition and price Thanks, Mark
  10. All excellent or better condition unless stated, PM me if interested Cheers, Mark. 11. Right, following recent bizarre price hikes in 'Its not the same', selling my Veep LP with this and other classics for the princely sum (at a fraction of the cost of the 45 it seems) of £20 including postage. Excuse the scan, done off my printer scanner so only got half the story, but vinyl in Ex/NM and cover Ex just an acceptable bit of age wear. PM me if interested, Cheers, Mark
  12. Anyone? Manny Corchado - Pow wow - Decca (45 not LP) Pm with condition and price please Thanks, Mark
  13. Quick post to get of some cheapos lying around, these need to go, cheap soul but decent tunes, everything a fiver plus a quid postage, paypal only please, pm me if interested, even do us a deal, Cheers, Mark Barbara Lewis - Spend a little time / Someday we're gonna love again - Atlantic Forest Hairston - We go to pieces - Viney Wayne Fontana - It was easier to hurt her - Fontana (not a bad version!) James Velvet - Bouquet of flowers - Cub Tommy Hunt - Searchin' for my baby - Dynamo Jimmy Delphs - Almost / Dont sign the paper - Karen Jerry Combs & Mannix - I dont want to cry - WB (not Chuck J, different tune, and class midtempo vg+) Quantrells - Show me the game of love - Yambo fab tune but deep scratches and audible, plays through though without jumping! Hence price. Eddie Holman - Free country / This can't be true - Parkway Chris Clark - Do right baby do right - Dont be too long - VIP demo WOL labels Jimmy Soul Clark - Do it right now (inst version of Stonebroke - fab!)/ If I only knew then Karen promo Mary Love - Satisfied feeling / Baby I'll come - Modern Gene Chandler - There goes the lover - Brunswick Gerry & Paul - Catwalk / Little bit of soul - Fat back Bob Kuban Band - Jerkin' time - Norman
  14. Now I'm a 60's biggot these days, but check out this 70's Rance Allen number for a contender for most soulful record ever in my book - 'See what you done' - simply kills you. Rips your heart out. Kills you. Dead.
  15. Yep thought that myself, apparently was popular with local Buffalo NY residents according to some blurb I remember reading somewhere (was it Ady's sleevenotes on that Swan CD?) - and I suppose also the fact he's still singing it now suggests it was a local hit once upon a time!
  16. Stumbled across this on utube....
  17. Hi Don, can't remember the last time I saw one of these for sale, but last count around £400-£500? Was after one of these once myself. Even the (80's?) boots go for daft money (£50 and higher). Somebody has been pressing off dodgey boots / reissues on the bay over the last year. A popcorn record not to everybody's taste but certainly is to mine, sublime. My 11 year old daughter loves it and wants one for Christmas!
  18. Still after...... GAY POPPERS - I WANT TO KNOW - FIRE PM me with condition and price thanks Mark
  19. Seems like the LP isn't even worth a bid at a tenner then, just checked my PMs, not a sniff! Ah well
  20. Offers then starting at a tenner! This'll be interesting...Highest bid by tonight gets it, whatever it goes for! Just Pm me...
  21. STILL no takers for my Veep LP? £50 including postage for interested parties (sorry bout the pants scans but you get the gist.....)
  22. £20 cheapie - but fab both sides!
  23. Anyone? GAY POPPERS - I WANT TO KNOW - FIRE ITHACAS - IF YOU WANT MY LOVE - FEE BEE (SORTED) PM me with condition and price please! ATB Mark
  24. ...... to me! Agree with Phil, nice double sider but 'One and only girl' is the biz, big noisy one with balls, belies its beachy roots and sounds great out!
  25. My Veep LP is still available if anybody's interested...£20 all in, loads of classics including Its not the same, and fraction of the price it seems....
