  1. One of Russ,s discoverys was that if you open a succesful alnighter and rattle on about it for the next 30 odd years you can make a good living

Loved the Blue Rooms used to get the train from Sale to picadilly and from picadilly to Stockport fell asleep many a time and woke in Stafford The music was fresh and different I am sure Ian and Colin experimented a lot there . Dave Evison used to do a spot . A good sound system and a big mirror along the back wall , remember the poseurs dancing facing the mirror .

Must get my eyes tested I thought Rob was dead poor Rob RnB is dead thats ok then nowt important
  7. Acording to an industry body the International federation of the phonographic industry IFPI some 95% of music downloads are illegal . This feels like an alien enviroment to me I treasure my records they are in my possibly naive mind a tangible link to the artists . In thirty or so years time will people still have these downloaded tracks or will they be chucked with the hard drive ,there is no value or provenace atached to downloaded music even less so the pirated music . Its very sad but symtomatic of this disposable world we inhabit . God I have made myself all miserable now gonna have to sniff some vinyl

  15. On the web we tend to over analyse and dissect every aspect of the scene , almost as if we think we are the custodians of it news flash we are not . There are thousands of soul fans not on the web its not a crucial factor , getting out there sweating your bollocks off on a Saturday night is . My daughter cant arrange a night out now without facebook and a million text messages back and forth and this is progress? . See you next Saturday half seven outside Merseyway and people would be there. no mobiles or facebook easy innit .
  16. All we do on tinternet is what we used to do on trains and busses on the way to nighters talk shite and take the piss out of each other spread romours and gossip . the reason we dont attend as many events is because we have all grown up and have other comitments plus there are to many events . The interest is stil there and when I catch up with old mates the vast majority of them dont bother with the web at all . The scene was there long before the web but I doubt if I could manage without my daily Refosoul fix of new to my ears sounds
