  3. I dont think that a cap on advertising on SS would make that much of an impact on the wider soul scene . we dont have that much influence do we ?
  4. I recall a young lad from Stoke who nicked his dads moped he ditched it partway to Wigan and ran the rest of the way ..........................................!!!!!
  5. This is a great question and allways puzzled me as to who this music was aimed at and if it was played out alongside music of a similar style tempo etc and how people danced to it . It may be a British peculiarity that we put such a high value culturaly on something the Americans can so easily dispose of .
  6. Been trying to catch up with all the Stafford stuff for a while these podcasts are fantastic I never realised just how diverse the playlists were some amazing tunes . Thanks for posting these up
  7. I thought we were discussing IL,s creative output not how many hot dinners Ive had The records he discovered would have been discovered by someone at sometime and got plays anyway , I cant take away his and Colins input as dejays , but IL,s attempts to ape the great production/writing heroes of the scene fall well short of the mark in my opinion .
  8. Poorly rehashing a few established Northern soul tracks and writing and producing insipid soul effect muzak hardly makes him worthy of discussion on here especially given his nobbish behavior last time around .

  20. If a professional producer cant get it right then what makes a Tom Moulton wannabee bedroom producer think he can ?
  21. The idea of a bootleg is to decieve , by playing bootlegs the punters are being decieved and treated with contempt , its not about the soul police but about honesty and integrity.
  22. My brother in law was in a rock band in the 80s and they had a hundred singles pressed of one of thier recordings most got sold to fans and family but one has just sold on E_Bay in greece for £120 . I think there is a subtle difference between scarcity and rarety, once a scarce record is in demand it becomes rare . Sort of makes sense to me
  23. Quite laughable really are these so called cutting edge upfront DJs trying to push the boundaries ? The boundaries are quite simple play decent soul music not difficult is it ?
