  1. On a positive note I took my youngest daughter ( she,s 24 ) to a soul night and she was amazed at the atmosphere the freindlyness , the fact she didnt witness any trouble suprised her . She was facinated that the dancefloor was always full and that middle aged people could dance till the early hours and at the end of the night still be hanging about chatting . On a personel level I wont drink at a soul venue I dont associate drink and soul together .
  2. One rule for one etc etc . We cant pilory one DJ where ever he plays and let another get on with it , thats double standards so what if CC was there at the beginning then he should know better .

  4. A big name DJ playing stuff he used to play off CD s is wrong . people are paying with real money so at the very least they should expect to be treated with a bit more respect . To me its like watching a big name singer lip sync .

  7. I have the utmost respect for the Twisted Wheel . Forty years since its closure the horse has well and truly bolted . I am not knocking the current events at but they could be held anywhere if they are any good they will stand by there own merits . Its a building , right I,m of to debate on the relative merits of wattle and daub on the bricks are better forum

  11. C,mon get a grip whats so sad its only a crappy old building The Twised wheel closed in the early seventies and no amount of calling it the Wheel alters that fact . People have had thirty odd years to come up with an appropriate way of marking the huge impact the club had and have failed to do so . But I suppose the greatest legacy the Wheel has left is the enduring soul scene and that is more important than mourning the demise of some bricks and mortar .
  12. A Burnley sound is usually distinguished by the sound of clogs . Appologies could,nt help meself

  24. There certainly is Boba , its a very grey area there are many non comercial tracks that just sit a hairs breadth away but still have that certain indefinable quality . I suppose its all in the ear of the beholder
