  2. If you are middle aged and missed it first time around tough titty you didnt have it then what makes you think you,re going to have it now .

  6. I think we now should look at it as being an alternative scene its not underground anymore.
  7. The tracks you have listed are the tracks I definately dont want to hear and am sick of hearing at NS events , there is so much more to this northern soul thing the depth and diversity is staggering over the years . Even in that seventies time warp the boudaries were being pushed just look at the stuff being played at the Mecca and Ritz not even on the radar anymore .
  8. Get on with what exactly ? accepting the lowest common denominator , accepting the missrepresentation of a much broader scene that the media and time warp soulies deny the existance of , Sorry Krissi but I do disagree with you now and I do fu''ing care I do give a shit and I do give a toss and I come from Stockport
  9. In my clumsy way I am agreeing with you Stockport , there has always been plenty of northern about like you say never been particularly underground . Most venues in Stocky lowest common denominator and folks are happy .

  14. Some good points well made there but even better some great phrases coined Dick swinging ego trip and musical evangelism
  15. Good post Epic even though there was a rift developing I had my feet firmly planted in both camps , loved the traditional 60s sounds as well as the newer 70s stuff I didnt care it was all great soul music to me . The Ritz at the time fused the two together nicely for me where else could you be dancing to the Salvadors one minute and then be stomping away to Hamilton Bohannan the next happy days for me and the breadth an variety of music staggering .
  16. Pete cheers for that brilliant stuff
