  1. And the general population sit there happily munching on a pannini and slurping a latte and dont give a flying fook . The Casino was great I loved it but some thirty odd years on Casino Cafe and blue plaque,s ........Really ?
  2. I used to think that The Blue rooms at Sale Mecca was posh but what do I know I,m just a hairy arsed ruffian from Stockport .
  3. Bloody hell some people never satisfied a film about Wigan behave Loved the old girl went from 73 till 78 don't need or want a film about it , there,s enough stuff out there for people to get the picture .
  4. I recon that peoples perceptions of the film will vary depending on when and how they got into the scene and wether they can identify with that time or not . For me the film had a pre - 1975 feel about it so it was easy for me to recognise . Heard a few comments off people about the films drug scenes it happened so should be included plus I dont think they were disproportionate . The film was,nt about Wigan Casino so the Casino scenes were well ballanced and well detailed and not overdone . There are more than enough Rose tinted views on youtube from all the naff representations documentarys etc and to its credit this film isnt one .
  5. Outside the Casino one saturday night , a bald adolesent asked me out for a fight , he was no bigger than a twopenny fart , he was a deft exponent of a martial art
  6. The folks that are in denial of the manic gritty side of the scene obviosly didnt spend time in The Beachcomber before a 2am start .
  7. Naff haircuts shit shirts and shoes gave the DS away they were,nt fooling anyone
  8. Thought it was a good film captured the maniacal side of the early seventies very well , thought the film got the balance right and didn't become a sugar coated Casino fest . Don't think any Normals watching it would get it though and that's not a bad thing as far as I,m concerned . To be honest I didn't want to like this film but it hit the spot for me . ( Bargain at £7.99 in HMV )
  9. I, m 58 early seventies I had tattoo's as Pete said swallows I swore like a ttrooper and wore two rings in my left ear the scene back then was subversive anarchic and bordering on outlaw
  10. "Its not hard and its not rocket science surely " bit arrogant there Martyn . Why should we put ourselves out so you can pursue your hobby ? I don't want to be photographed whilst out and certainly don't want to engage with the photographer .
  11. Should, nt have to ask someone to delete or not take a pic or video they should, nt be there in the first place . Dont care if photography is your hobby or job whatever .
  12. Bloody hell I struggle to dance in time let alone dance in trainers

  15. 60s newies yes yes and thrice yes
  16. Loved the excitement of the early days of the scene and hearing new sounds each week a lot of those seminal tunes some 40+ years on still never fail to get me going . Love hearing new tunes and over the years have heard some cracking stuff but not as excitable as I used to be does,nt mean however that they are not as good just hearing them in a different era . We have never had it so good the accessebility of sounds now is staggering and I am overwhelmed by new to my ears tunes the web has played a huge part in that and of course this site

  19. Junior Walkers Shotgun album on MFP the sleeve notes give you a load of bumf but the nugget is " Music from the heart for the feet " sums it up nicely for me
