  1. Congratulations to The Yank I would have joined in if I had the slightest scooby what the emojis meant. Is there an emoji to over 60 year old dictionary available lol
  2. Jimmy Burns first, it has the edge and rawness that Bobby James doesn't, to my ears. I have always liked the Brand New Faces but either theirs or Jimmy's version would keep me on the dance floor. The other one as Joan eloquently puts it is complete pants.
  3. Looks like Chic to me. The guy bottom right looks like John Stone (from Gloucester now Wolves) I would have been in front of the DJ box, the floor didn't bounce as much there. Not sure that is Toddy, I think it is John from Bolton who sold me my Cecil Washington and Carol Anderson.
  4. Sad news indeed, Rest In Peace Paul Martyn & Carol x
  5. That went for less than I thought it would
  6. Beware a Stranger, always found a place in my play box and on tapes I did for folk. RIP Bobby
  7. Steve we had one in the garden earlier today as well ... only difference was we saw ours through the dining room window.
  8. Ali ... crikey thats bad luck, released from lockdown and that's what happens ... I always said you need to take more water with it ... hope it all mends quickly and you are back on your feet soon. Love from me and Carol xxxx
  9. Excuse my self indulgence, my daughters first child (also her photo as no visitors allowed) one day old, welcome to the world Burnaford Elliott, another grandson for me and Carol.
  10. Stunned and saddened to hear this, I always enjoyed looking through her images of the previous weekends soul nights. Sincere condolences to Sue's family and friends, she will be missed by us all. Rest peacefully Sue. Martyn & Carol x
  11. Sorry to hear this Dave, our condolences to you and your families at this sad time. Rest peacefully Peter Martyn & Carol x
  12. Obviously a wise man .... a mistake I made all those years ago, although in fairness I needed a baby sitter at the time
  13. I could have taken that stood up
  14. Sad to hear this, condolences to his family. Rest in peace Chico.
  15. That is sad news ... RIP Manu
  16. My new messaging system
  17. My mate waded out and held a mirror behind the Grebe ... we tried it with the Telegraph but it wasn't the same
  18. A Great Crested Grebe from a gloomy Saturday
  19. Steve you think that is heavily cropped ... how about this a Red Kite over a mile away We had three drift through yesterday morning, all distant, following the M6 south, obviously not effected by the roadworks
  20. 2 Weeks ago we had a couple at Belvide, just checked the first one was on 22nd Feb
  21. They love the berries on Rowan / Mountain Ash trees, which were used a great deal in landscaping schemes for shopping centres and supermarket car parks. My neighbour has a Rowan tree in his garden, my record is 33 Waxwing on my roof, unfortunately I have not seen any this year, we needed a colder winter to push the birds south.
  22. I though it was Tony trying to escape
  23. When you look straight up at the night sky you are looking through the atmosphere at its narrowest thickness, when you look at the horizon at an angle through the atmosphere you are looking through it's thickest part and more likely to distort images, air temperature and movement can have an added effect on image quality as well, described as good or bad seeing by astronomers. Next week on ask Martyn ... how to knit fog
  24. This little beauty was on my lawn at lunchtime, I managed to open a bedroom window without spooking him
