  1. Grapevine one is fine, with the added bonus of the superb ' Masqueraders - How' on the other side, however it can be one of the trickier ones on the label to find. Martyn
  2. Martyn Pitt

    who

Actually I am disapointed as this is on the front page with the caption 'View More' Sorry I do not know who they are
  3. Phil Try this forum on Paypal Sucks may be some useful info PAYPAL FORUM Martyn
  4. Liam you are a child...have you looked properly Check you have not got two records in one sleeve. If you write the artist and title on the top of the sleeve, check you have not put it in the wrong sleeve. Good luck tracking it down Martyn
  5. There is no way BeeCool will have those, but it might be worth trying John Manship, he did say to someone the other day that he had a large number of soul magazines, but had not got around to listing them, but would check if he had specific issues. Martyn
  6. Depends which ones, the early ones from 1 up to around 34 were done by Polly and Dennis, then it was sold for a tremendous sum to the BeeCool chaps, leaving Polly to buy a yacht and retire to the sun. (OK maybe I made up the bit about the tremendous sum .) The early ones are the ones to have, akin to the Viz magazine of the Soul world, however I would imagine tricky to get hold of back issues. Best bet to post up the numbers you want, however bear in mind Polly managed to cock up the numbering in the twenty's so there is an A & B added, if you really need to know I can find them out and let you know which ones they were. Martyn
  7. Interesting, I suppose the impact of the Fab Four ran through all genres of the music industry at the time. These guys were not setting out to produce rare records, they were after a decent living and better way of life for themselves. Always strikes me as ironic that the ones that failed are the ones that succeeded over here. Still going back to the record in question, had I bought it blind, without prior knowledge I would have played the Light Of Day side. Martyn
  8. Thanks for that, sanity returns. Martyn
  9. I had stopped going by then, fed up with the manufactured soul that was being played. I have played it out on a few occasions, sounds good loud. Martyn
  10. The one I saw was a Red version of the Prophonics label the original is on, it had the look and feel of a look-alike boot, and the price being asked would have been a lot higher at the time (real ones were around £300 then). It was being sold by a dealer, who would have known if it had a higher value, it was not in the middle of somebodys 50 box. Martyn
  11. I hope it was a boot, it was about £20 - £30, would have been a bargain Martyn
  12. Last one I saw go through John Manship's auction was over £2000. I have seen a red look alike boot, long time ago, not seen another. The 'B' side 'Light Of Day' is as good, and worth a listen Martyn
  13. With the orange one it is easier to find a lemon to pay £90 for it. Martyn
  14. Heres a thought .... the blue ones were re-issues, thing is everyone (and their dog) had bought an orange one, so there were fewer blue ones sold .... does that sound plausable Keiths prices look more realistic. Martyn
  15. Yes I am well thanks, thing is Dazz it's remembering which bloody box they are in, and I may as well sit on them until they are fetching big money . Is it worth letting out any of these Cecil Washingtons yet Martyn
  16. There are some people out there who need to take a serious look at themselves, there is no way that this is anywhere near rare, I must have two or three copies kicking around in various boxes here somewhere. There were loads of these about, they were bought in quantity as a new release in 77, every man and his dog bought one at the time. I would be embarrased to ask for more than £10 for it. Is it the buyers are getting too lazy to look properly. Martyn
  17. with Pete on this, would have thought £10 max. Martyn
  18. Act in haste, repent at your leisure....give it some more thought Pete, only one person has caused you grief, everyone else who has bought stuff off you knows what you are about. Do you really think that you could stand the restraints of being tied to a 9-5 job, and not being the boss. May be wise to give it a week, see how you feel then. Yes you are too old to play for Wolves, but there is always Sheffield United whilst Robson is in charge. Good luck with whatever you decide to do Martyn
