  2. Great Crested Grebes mating, after the male has finished he runs up the female right over her head ...
  3. A Great Crested Grebe swimming ... I need to take a shorter lens with a polarising filter, as they swim around amongst the pike right below the one hide Here is one of the smaller Pike
  4. Heres something we do not want on the reserve, there were two of them Anyone want a nice coat ...
  5. We have had our first Sand Martin on the 8th March
  6. How about a Goldeneye doing it's Rabbit impersonation ... in the pouring rain
  7. The weed dance ... a pair of Great Crested Grebes courting. They grab a piece of weed then present it to each other, they all do it when they are pairing up to mate ... what intrigues me is how did they learn to do it ... fascinating thing the natural world.
  8. Here is a colourful one, a Japanese Green Pheasant ... with a limp, which I am sure he puts on to impress the ladies
  9. About time I posted a crap one ....
  10. Hi Derek, I wouldn't worry too much as other members have posted images that were not their own on this thread. In fact this is the third time this image has been posted on here, Smiffy got in first with post #334
  11. They could be. Lapwing tend to fly in large flocks at times, might be them
  12. Here you go Chris, a Male
  13. A female Stonechat posing a treat
  14. Little Grebe ... or a giant Mallard
  15. I know ... wind was cool first thing, we had three Stonechats showing well today, once the sun came out I was getting problems with heat haze coming up off the dead read beds
  16. A Buzzard graces a blue sky (for a change)
  17. A Kestrel and a tight formation of Pochard
  18. I didn't know he played cricket ... he never said
  19. Up at Belvide Reservoir Pete, but that is members only access ... you will get them along the canals around here, there is a canal runs by Wombourne, worth a stroll along see what you can see. The ones at Belvide come up from the local canal. You need to keep your eyes peeled though Pete as they are bloody quick, and quite a small bird so can be a challenge to spot
  20. Same here, I had 21 sightings a few weeks back, we saw three together on Saturday, good to see them they are a gorgeous bird
  21. Shoveler and a Goldeneye and a Blue Missile
  22. They can be like that, but 3 times in the last 6 years they have come to me, usually only around for a few days, once the berries are gone off our neighbours tree they move on. Best place to see them is supermarket carparks, as they tended to plant a lot of Sorbus (Mountain Ash) trees with the landscaping
  23. Not seen any this year Steve. They usually go for the Mountain Ash across the road, a few years ago we had at least 30 of them perched on our roof
