  1. The scaffold platform out in the reservoir is usually the domain of the big Gulls and the Cormorants, there had been some squabbling between the Heron and the Cormorant A bit of bravado The Heron is saying anyway I caught one this big ... the Cormorant replies thats nothing I caught one this big
  2. I played it at Tony's mid 90's Steve 95 or 96, about 5 people danced to it ... a few months later and it was packing the dance floors. It wasn't as if it was an unknown at the time I played it, but there were a fair few on the scene at the time who didn't know it. But it did get hammered and I ended up giving my copy to somebody who wanted a copy to give his wife for a present.
  3. A Grey Heron deep in the reed bed this morning
  4. We get loads down here Steve ... watch out for when they start courting and do the display thing where they throw their head backwards ... they look just like a Rabbit. ( I posted a picture on here a few years back of one doing the Rabbit impression).
  5. O'Jays by a mile ... that's the one I am going to get up out my chair and dance to, the Linda Jones one is slower, probably OK to listen to, but not as powerful a dancer as the O'Jays.
  6. Yes Steve ... the heathens like to drink it through straws ... I blame their Grandmother
  7. A pair of vandals turned up last night, and proceeded to wreck the house and make a mess ... they can try and look innocent
  8. This one is for Steve (Winsford Soul) - I know the majority of my images posted on here are taken using a 500mm lens, but I really enjoy going back to basics using manual focus lenses, and the best for that are the Zeiss ones, unlike todays modern 'plastic' lenses from Nikon and Canon, these things are all metal and built like a tank. A couple of examples of the images they can produce, seen full size on a monitor they have a 3D feel to them
  9. You can get pictures of the Moon during daylight heres one I got a few years ago
  10. Sad news indeed ... RIP Grant
  11. I will run through it with you tomorrow night Steve ... I used to play a 4 string bass in a band, in my late teens early twenties, a Fender Precision (pre CBS), Hiwatt AP100 valve amp, Marshall 4 x 12 cab ... no wonder I have tinnitus
  12. Cheers Steve, she is a bit shorter than me, her brother is just over 6ft. It was great Steve, and she looked stunning, I was a very proud Dad yesterday, Carol took the photo, she caught it just right
  13. Try removing the lens and cleaning the contacts on the body and the lens, that can resolve some problems.
  14. Is it definitely the button stuck down Steve, might be worth googling the fault as you may find a DIY fix online. I could always loan you a Nikon body, but you would need an adaptor to fit your lens on it ... either that or get creative with some gaffer tape
  15. Never seen a red one Steve, all the bushy tailed rats down this way only have the base grey primer coat
  16. Wouldn't matter really Steve, they only go out in the dark ... surprised we never saw more of them at nighters, being nocturnal and underground
  17. Nice shot of the Badger Steve ... would have looked good in colour
  18. Hey Steve that Canon 500mm has got some reach ... Manchester to Africa You sure that was not taken in a Safari Park in the UK and someone is pulling your leg
  19. A couple more Dragonfly images from the weekend, including a pair mating
  20. Hey up Sooty, nice to bump into you the other week ...
  21. A young House Martin getting ready for the long flight south on a damp and gloomy morning
  22. ... I thought twice about doing my rabbit impression I tell you
  23. This Buzzard got fairly close as it drifted overhead
