BY Far this was the Best afternoon in the 5 years of the H&G if i hadnt been under pressure to get home id have still been there now, as it happened i didnt leave until 9:30pm and the music was still flowing....it really was a day where you didnt want it to end... ive not had a day like it for many a year The south coast Posseeeeee ..... fantastic...... I was up and down to the decks to each DJ like a whores arse on a busy bank holiday..... Absolutely Top to meet Tracy, john, Bob and Dave and their spouses friends (and Tracey your sister... is she single.... ) and all round travelling team ...nice to see Russ Vickers there but i didnt get a chance to speak but now a face to a name.. Tunes are still dancing in my head.... I wish i was still there Geeoooooooordie PS What got played after the end of the DJ list 8pm onwards ...You dont wanna know it got better...it'll just sicken you

There is a Group I started on Facebook called Teds Ties its devoted to his collection that i think is worth more than his vinyl, I think Ted has collecting personality..... the ties are legendary Geeooooooordie PS Sean Chapmans playlist was great...why argue over the whys and wherefores...most tracks we seem to claim on the soulscene were played by many a radio station or soulster in the states long before we got our claim to them ....so there

John Harris And The Soul Sayers Now Out On 45
Geordiejohnson commented on Mike's article in News Archives
Nev I'll frequent whatever venue i fking well choose.. what has venues got to do with my post???????, I didnt say i hated going to venues where stuff like this gets played or belittle anyone for playing it.......so im not sure why youve the right to tell me where to go and not go just because i have an opinion on ONE record that i think is shite out of the tens of thousands i think are brilliant, I like music right across the soul spectrum from blues to 60's right up to recent releases im not a time warp or genre victim and i dont get swayed by the rarity of a track or become a label bore. Ive collected since the 70's in every soul genre from Northern, Jazz funk, club sounds, Garage.... you name it, so my ears are..... WIDE ..Fking OPEN ..... did you like every track you heard in Manchester ...no didnt think so......and im not a chin stroker at any venue youll see me on the floor dancing .to 2 step and uptempo 100mph tracks ....so you see this old bastard is still dancin too... not chin strokin You of all people who visited the Friendship nights know what type of stuff we played and it wasnt all mellow chinstroker music.... Signed a bemused Geeoooooordie who had the audacity to comment on one record i didnt like...shame on me..... now bow to the gurus geordie you naughty boy and never have an opinion again -
John Harris And The Soul Sayers Now Out On 45
Geordiejohnson commented on Mike's article in News Archives
Is it just me ...i think its mediocre ...to crap.... and i think some people are swayed by the cock swinging rarity of a track rather than how good/bad the track is..for me its not that hot the backing moderate to poor and so so production...thats my take... a thousand others will say..fantastic...but hey free society and my vote counts as much as the next mans Geeooooooordie -
Great roller rink at a fantastic building now gone....the plaza tynemouth Th roler rink was not on the sands but next level up the floor above at Road levelwas a huge ballroom that used to host great Northern Nights in the 70's the building was "mysteriously" burnt down after years of legal wrangling because the council couldnt afford to run i, they had differnt music spots at the roller rink youd get thing like Edwin starr Time and frankie valli your ready now and out on the floor ...you could wang round to those no bother

Ive never had a bad dealing with henry..in fact i go to him before i go elsewhere hes always been top.. Best laugh with a dealer ...I knew john powney of castle records from old ..I moved away from the north east then one day about 15 years later phoned him up after getting a list (how i got the list or how it ended up at my address I dont know to this day) and said Hi John do you remember me blah blah..he was quiet for a moment and then said "oh yeh from the compass club whitley bay... now that i remember you ..phone me back im going for a shit"!!!!!... This thread though has showed one thing, it seems the dealers in the USA are wise to the brits, many of who have legally trounced them of their wares and are now very protective, they are price savvy and it seems bargains are few and far between from them, I cant blame them for being a bit miffed that they were a bit wet behind the ears

the thing to do is everyone who feels the guys out of line...and he is misleading in his description..... is contact the seller via ebay if he gets a shed load of contacts from various persons all hounding him about it being a boot he might withdraw it before auction end tomorrow and the buyer mwy be saved...... the buyer, i dont think is a fool as some have intimated, may not be armed with all the information to know its a boot...weve all been duped in the past......... Just bought a track for £25 the duty and postage came to another £25 all done through ebay USA, it turns out id would have paid £50 to a UK dealer so break even, but if you get a seller whos not through ebay you can chance the postage and duty and get it through cheaper, ive done this as well....goods through ebay seem to be hiked up to the hilt i understand they are probably under scrutiny by the IRS and now following the tougher customs checks etc ...which i may add ebay did notifiy users in an indepth message last year....,but doing it by the book is stopping me buying from Ebay from the states.... europe only for me in future as i know of a few of my compardres in yorkshire who have had tunes that have cost more than anticipated with the postage and duty rises,
