  4. Hey mudbone because your new you can be forgiven if you think the comments are rude, there not meant to be just some of the fellow soul sourcers having a lark. Your records are mainstream pop though and may not appeal to many on here as Dan pointed out, Im sure after a few weeks on here you'll warm to the kind snipes, warm slagging and general freindly bitter feeling and absolute jealousy the soul sourcers have for each other Geeooooordie
  5. See I knew youd own up to liking modern at some point pete Geeooooordie
  6. James, checked out your feedback........Nice dump truck Geeooooordie
  7. MMMMMMMMMMMMM....pop masquerading as soul..............surely all music at some stage is trying to be "popular" (pop) within its genres its then down to.... the luck of the draw, ,,,marketing forces, etc, etc, that make it a sure fire collectors item coz it flopped on in the popular stakes. (Watch out for the incoming johnson red rag and bull & all that ) Geeoooooordie
  8. Been after one myself for ages got the love look in your eyes but cant get good good feeling, hard to know which is the hardest to get now as ive come across 6 love looks in the last two months!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 10. Anyone who has visited the Soul Walking website that toby walker has brilliantly put together will know he was issued a writ for plagerism for refering to the death of marvin gaye he has had to close down hundreds of his group and artist profiles while he cross references everything and makes sure nothing is word for word like anything else in current print. like he said "how many different ways can you print "Marvin Gaye was shot by his father" he was still brought to task for it, so in light of that it must be pretty easy to have legal redress fo plagerism. But then im not a lawyer.....what do I know Geeooooordie

Wife used to be a youth club soulie in sunny barnsley so ....sort of gets it Doesnt mind when i buy tunes even expensive ones, as its my only vice and as long as she and the kids get what they need when they need it she doesnt moan. But can I F**k get out for two nights on the trot on a weekend, one night only or my bollocks are being served as sunday roast, best thing is she doesnt go out herself at all she says "stay in tonight keep us company for a change " and promptly falls asleep spragged out on the settee......cant fathom that out at all. Geeooooordie

  16. shane Go to C in the soulclub index and download Charlie Drake my boomarang wont come back, see if that plays alright.........Funny , i can't remember this being a big soul sound..was it played at wigan in the Joe 90 era seriously i plug into soulclub most night some great tunes on it Geeooooordie
  17. A topic close to mine and billytheboots heart, for the Friendship soulnights..... Equipment is King We change our full headshells yearly so each deck only gets 12 nights plays when we change them. We always have spare needles and replace them after 6 nights plays. And billys a stickler for getting the arms correctly balanced, we even went to the trouble to get a variety of counter weights made from a precision engineers which have a difference in weight of less than a quater of a gramm. Our policy is that other people and ourselves have spent a lot of money on records the very least we can do is that we can ensure...... A) the equipment wont harm their collections, .b/ The sound playback does them the justice they deserve, C) we have a clean good grade antistactic cloth on hand for them to wipe their tunes before and after play. On another note how many venues change the slipmats...i recently djayed at a venue that when I took my tunes off the decks there was more grit and shit stuck on the underside with static etc, I always clean my records with a good grade antistatic cloth before and after a play and i was appalled at what was coming off the decks. Geeooooordie

  20. Theres the wonderfull story of Gilly standing in Johnnie Mae Matthews Kitchen as she danced around and signed his copy of "i have no Choice" it was all videoed. Gilly sold the single to andy dyson then Dave and Bri Pinches had it, they then traded it with gaz steele and he still has it, wonder if the video along with the single would be worth much.....nice nostalgia piece Geeooooordie

  22. The pinches didnt get it in the end, as soon as they showed serious intrest up to giving the £notes the guy backed off and said he was keeping it. did that with a few others, he had them in a sales box and as soon as anyone said theyd have whatever record, he said "Im not selling now" think he was judging what people thought were decent. (why boither putting them up for sale and then keeping them...Makes no sense). I think the bell copy he has was andy dysons once apon a time Geeooooordie
  23. A mate of mine bought a box of 200 old Juke box records that were a bit dusty & some warped from the states for £20 and there were three of these in it all they needed was a clean. dont know the value but dont think its rare. Geeooordie
