Glad you liked the plays lads, it is a cracking little venue and each DJ is encouraged to play what they like and dig deep into their collections, Im usually mr warm up so i just play some gentle tunes whilst people are just arriving but the quality of tunes all round... i went home very happy. Both tunes used to be regular plays for me in the early Friendship soul nights and in 2007/08 i sold them both, but before me my mate Vault of soul DJ, Errol Green had been hammering more than ever now for many years but alas the plays seemed to fall on deaf ears, personally more than ever now is the better tune, Early copies of More than ever now didn't have any label tampering and credits "The Angels" as the band later copies had a crudely placed typed name tag of "the Laniers" placed over the Angels name, when you find copies many have had the Laniers name tag removed but there is always glue residue or label damage in this area. I was told that the name change was because the release coincided with the release of the other Band Called the Angels who had the big hit with "My Boyfriends Back" and the record was quickly pulled and re-stickered but it missed the boat hence why it is the rarer of the two...how true that is is open to debate I'm sure Geeooooordie

El Anthony - Weve been in love too long - La Cindy EX This is the best copy ive come across, there are slight pin head belmishes in the vinyl as with most of them have that i've seen but they do not affect play it has a slight bit of background hiss or crackle on the run in that disappears immediately on the first note, its not cue burn probably from pressing. What do you mean THEORY were you at the friendship back in 2005????...Oh I see is this a "Geordies an unknown so he couldnt possibly have played this first" so lets knock him I ACTUALLY DID play it on the day of release... but what does that matter who played what, when and whos ahead of the game? thats all pretencious bullshit. All i was saying it has been a constant play of mine since then, I didnt say i was the first to play it, nor claimed to discover it i actually got the tip on the record from Gary at Crazybeat and took 5 copies off him, At the time Mark Whiteley put a thread on here with a sound bite and asked if anyone liked it or had heard it... guess what.. most, apart from Mick Wad (who had heard it at the friendship and promptly bought one) said NO & it was crap!!!!!! how times change. But it wasnt played on the soul scene that wideley, but it was played on the jazz scene in abundance. Your reply would be valid if it wasnt Vauge and full of "I suspects" BTW i suspect it was first played on the Italian soulscene as it was first released for that market on CD...but then i suspect someone might have vinyl carved it off the cd and played it at a venue somewhere.. and I do Suspect ive been the most consistant player of the track over the last 4 years geeoooooooordie

Been playing this every night ive djayed since its release day,in 2005... no-one at the time but me liked it!!!! had 5 copies wished id bought more . Pleased its taken off now, i'm currently trying to secure copies for 5 people at the moment and its been virtually impossible to pin any down. Good hunting Geeoooooooordie
