  1. Cheers Nige but is that a British copy? looking for an American Demo mate. Regards - Mark Bicknell.
  2. Several people have contacted me offering issue/stock copies which ain't the problem, the problem seems to be there are no demos out there for sale lol Regards - Mark Bicknell.
  3. I certainly sported the corner for Grapevine 2000 when I was presenting for Solar/Starpoint as Gary was kind enough to always send me advance promo CD's and all the 45's as they were released, still have the whole run upstairs in one of the boxes and cheerish them as much as the rest of the collection, remember when he sent me this sample CD which included The Servicemen, Eddie Holman etc. blew me away and got plenty of advance airplay on my shows, I reckon in time the 2000's will be as collectable as the 70's Grapevine 45's, some wonderful releases from guy's with a real feeling and passion for the music, thanks guys. Regards - Mark Bicknell.
  4. Benifits no one certainly not the scene at grass roots real level anyway, as with television and being able to switch off the same analogy applies with photographs and my point was if you don't like it then simply don't look at them, same rules apply to everything in life I feel if you don't like something then simply don't subscribe to it, point taken if you care passionatley about something then it's difficult to stand bye and say nothing if you feel strongly enough that it's representation has to be correct and authentic so respect you for having the scenes best interest at heart but I feel there is very little you can do to for example stop this person from entering into this project if he feels able to do it. If something is not deemed credible on this scene often people give it a wide birth anyway, hard to judge what joe public think or outsiders looking in, does it matter? and do we care? what people outside of the scene think, I would suggest no we don't never have and never will, a scene hard to understand at the best of times if you are involved in even less if your not and if your not involved then do you care anyway no. This scene should and will be remembered as a unique, remarkable music scene that simply embraced the otherside of Black American music, held onto it, loved it, cheerished it, a scene which has the right to be part of youth culture and social history and if us the in crowd know the crack and how it works then little else matters certainly not what media types think or say. Regards - Mark Bicknell.
  5. My take on this is a little like bad television, a hyped or shitty book, a bad movie etc. if you don't like it don't watch it or read it, you have an on off switch so simply use it, we are too far down the line on this soul journey to be able to change what has been said, done, filmed, written about this scene to really worry, if you know in your heart of hearts where you are with this, what it means to you then anyone outside that bubble should have no influence on you, rip all the layers down, all the crap and the fundimental single most important thing with this scene is without question the music, if this chap wants to take a few photographs then no matter what is said here for or against ain't gonna make a blind bit of difference and like I said if you don't like the end result simply don't look at them and who cares if they don't portray an authentic scene as the people that really matter are the people involved in the real deal and who gives a shit what joe public thinks because if you ain't in you will never understand what it's all about. Regards - Mark Bicknell.

  8. Special Delivery items seem to be arriving next day certainly the ones I've sent out recently, not had any go missing, sent a record to Australia and the buyer wanted me to send it Priority Mail which he paid for as the backlog seems to be pretty bad there taking weeks to arrive, sign for mail seems ok in the UK again all my stuff seems to have landed with buyers so it's not all doom and gloom, had a Chelsea DVD go missing before Christmas but the way we are playing not too upset about that lol Regards - Mark Bicknell.
  9. Since I've been out of the loop on the scene over the past couple of years I've still kept my hand in with the records, wheeling, dealing buying, selling and so it goes, where some of the big Northern things have moved on from the collection, I've been picking up some classic albums and quality classic 60's soul 45's stuff which either I used to have or passed by years ago, all the good Chuck Jackson's, Impressions, Deon Jackson's, Nella Dodds etc. etc. was wondering if anyone is playing this kind of spot at the venues these day's perhaps in the mix of the bigger allnighters? you forget just how good some of these records are, I'm not talking about the well established big Northern oldies I'm talking about I guess the club soul stuff which many of us grew up on, Little Hank, Mirwood titles, Jamo Thomas, Rex Garvin etc. etc. I'm just curious to know if this type of spot would work now, something like the original 6T's West Hampstead playlists pre 100 Club, back to basics but the quality stuff, just put on The Impressions - Can't Satisfy, You've Been Cheating for example and they still cut the mustard in my book. Regards - Mark Bicknell.

  18. The question has to be as I've mentioned before on here why? buy a record that you can't play due to poor condition also how some people can even offer such poor condition records up for sale in the first place is a joke that ain't funny, don't matter how good or how rare a record is if it's fucked it's fucked and should have no market value at all, best place for records in this condition is a skip and not a record box. Regards - Mark Bicknell.
  19. As a seller on Ebay you have no redress at all with the simple fact that you can not now post anything other than good feedback on a buyer or nothing, you have done all you can to correct the mistake and it does sound that you have been dealing with one of the many people who try it on all the time on Ebay, all you can do in the future is describe the item in complete detail and post pictures of both sides of the record to display any WOL etc. also you should have requested the return of the record before giving a refund, seems to be anything goes wrong on Ebay they do little or nothing to offer any support to sellers if things go tits up, when selling records I guess you have to work along the lines that the customer is always right and always offer a returns/refund service but looks like you have been taken for a mug here as the guy has had his cake and seems to have swallowed it at your expence, good luck and I hope you can turn this around but with Ebay don't hold your breath. Regards - Mark Bicknell.
  20. Pete, any original artwork does tend to have a market value, often down to the artist name, reputation, body of work etc. reckon you will find the market for these with no problem and will make far more than the prints I'm sure, good luck. Regards - Mark Bicknell.

Jacqui just came into the kitchen and I told her it's gone up again lol I believe the PC term is 'Troll' a person who get's off on trying to wind other people up, look he's not going to sell it is he, reckon he must have dropped a major bollock selling something really cheap and he can't get over it, we all know at best it's a $100.00 record think I paid £40.00 for my white demo, there is no way to contact him so best we can do is relay a message here, which is lol lol lol lol Regards - Mark Bicknell.
