  2. Paul try Jason on here mate he has a few copies, checked and played the one I'm having off him so can't fault the guy, worth a go if you are struggling.

I take all the points about arm weight, balance etc. but the fact is you don't need all this pissing about every time you play them, fact is there is a production fault, groove too close whatever there is a problem otherwise this thread would not now be 7 pages, I hope I can track a playable copy down but to be honest the excitement and appeal of this has now completely gone.

Now I'm totally pissed off with this, just had another email saying I had a refund as there is no replacement stock and the manufacturers are not producing this package anymore and I've been refunded into my pay pal account which I have, Universals customer service and the way this has been handled is shocking, I've sent my set back because it was faulty and now here I am without a set, had another email yesterday saying a replacement had been processed and would be dispatched shortly, just checked order on line as the order numbers were different to original order on the replacement and it's been canceled so I'm totally pissed off and a little confused, there is a production fault on some of these so it had to go back now I'm gonna struggle to get one, total fuck up from start to finish, perhaps Phil Dick will sell me a spare lol or if anyone has a complete playable non skip copy spare please let me know.

  7. Latest email today from Universal, seems they are waiting on new stock, so fingers crossed. Hi Mark, Thanks for your reply. Please accept my apologies for the delay in this response. The issue has been raised further with our head office, due to the fact of similar issues that have been raised by other customers. We are in the process of receving new stock from the manufacturers and are currently wating on an ETA from the label which we should have been today. I can issue you with a full refund if that is was you require, or alternatively, I can advise you later on today of when we are due more stock. Are there no pressing plants left in the UK Paul? or is it all down to costs, seems if it is the case then it's gonna bite Universal on the arse, tend to agree with an early posting on this thread that if a smaller company had have done this then the attention to detail would have been paramount.

I have raised this issue with your warehouse team who said they have stock to replace. Unfortunately, as its limited they are unable to send out replacements for the faulty items and can only replace the whole order. They have assured me that they do have stock left for a replacement.   13. Yes Kev I noticed that it looked almost dirty if that makes any sense, thought it was a little odd before I sent it back.

I can see this getting really silly, just wondering how long it's going to take to get a replacement or refund, I got mine directly from Universal and sent it back yesterday, email said that there is stock there to replace they just can't replace the dodgy records on their own it has to be a fresh complete set, what worries me if these go out unchecked that the same problems are going to happen again, records skipping, records missing etc. would it not be fair to suggest a complete re press of the dodgy tracks which seem to be Temps, Tops and Spinners and a full quality control check throughout the process, someone somewhere is gonna get a good result out of this buying up all the faulty stock to sift through it and sell the good copies, I bet single copies will start to surface over the coming months for sale guaranteed, I think some of us would simply be happy with a playable complete and correct set.

Just had an email back from Universal all very sorry for the problems, they can't exchange the faulty records but can offer a full replacement which has been raised with the warehouse team, they do have stock to replace so all is good so far, seems that they will put it right, just make the complaint direct and polite and they seem to respond.
  18. How can you regret sending something back when three of the records skip? I simply wanted a set which I can play and enjoy and not just to look at which is not asking too much is it from such a well established huge company like Universal, the only regret I will have is not getting a perfect copy but would sooner not have it if the records don't play.
  19. Cheers mate for that but I think it will be a total waste of time calling them, mines off to the post office sending it back, what I will suggest to everyone sending it back is to send it 'sign for' mail just in case there are any problems or issues of it not getting there.

I don't think it has anything to do with the numbers of the box more to do with when they were packed, perhaps the first 1000 copies pressed were ok nice and clean then the impurity has infected the mastering or something so the later pressed records skip? or it might simply be bad luck and it's only a couple of sets that are dodgy, either way I'm sure Universal don't need the hassle, bad press and problems this is causing.

I sent Universal an email over the weekend regarding the skipping problem of three of the records, no reply as yet, fact is it's Universals problem and in my opinion if it's only a few copies with a production fault it's too many one is too many in my book, a major company like this should have everything in place regarding quality control, because of such a small production run I bet the master stampers were not checked enough to highlight the fault during production, I've lost total confidence in the package and just going to get a refund, the joke is you have to wait up to 30 days for a refund and I paid via pay pal within seconds.

The plot thickens here at least, just played all seven records both sides and there is also a skip on 'Clip My Wings' think I'm just gonna pack the whole thing up and send it back, it's a shame but I've lost confidence in buying another one if they exchange it for a good one then all well and good otherwise I'll have my money back.

No you are not unlucky just checked mine arrived Friday and both The Temptations and The Spinners skip, this is a disgrace from such a big company, the masters must have got an impurity on them during production, I can see some of us being disappointed as if this is now sold out how are we going to get replacements? what started off as all of us being very excited about this is slowly turning sour and I feel it's a quality control issue. Just sent an email to Universal regarding this, see what they suggest, I can't see it only being two instances of bad copies pretty sure more will surface as people check their sets, such a shame like I say, I've lost confidence in the package already and to cap it all you have to wait 30 days for a refund from Universal, maybe I should ask Phil Dick to check one of his spare sets for decent copies lol
  24. A seller has them on ebay at £49.99 plus postage, had 10 to start with down to 2 available, It's a safe bet that by the middle of next week this will be sold out, I was gonna buy 2 but then thought no let someone else enjoy one lol, another seller had them on ebay at £59.99
