This was a regular ten pound record around the Stafford period early 80's i must have had three or four copies over the years, be they the more common vocal/inst release, i'm glad to see it's finally become a big tune, pretty much been behind this one out at the gigs since finding another copy with 'Good Lovin' flip a couple of years ago for $250.00 i think, i would suspect that there are a fair few copies of this record out there in collections so not that rare in the true sense of the word but as it's already been said here demand often over shadows how rare some of these records are.Fantastic record whatever the price. Re the Mic levels on a couple of recent guests big sorry, not all have big fog horn voices like mine and i ask them to sit close to the Mic but sometimes the levels change, it wont happen again i promise, nice and loud with Chalky tonight, really sorry if the Mic problem has spoiled your enjoyment of an otherwise brilliant show presented by a true professional....me....lol Regards - Mark Bicknell.

Hi everyone, sorry been out of action Soul wise for several weeks, just got back into the day job with my head down trying to play catch up and get some coin together for Christmas after being off work for three months with the busted foot, also had a few problems with land line - phone and PC but all back to normal now, big shout and sorry to Jon and Sue Buck and Kevin Roberts as i can't make their events in December due to work commitments, i just can't get the time off work, really sorry but have to put day job and family first as it's been pretty grim and tuff living on £56.00 a week sick pay but i'm getting there. Good to see things are still going strong on here so much so i've invested in a lap top for the gigs lol, seems like a good idea either that or invest in some sub standard unknown records which nobody wants to hear or collect......still got enough of them already, so no i've not quit or gone to ground just been working and having fun with my family basically the important stuff. It's impossible to explain this weird and wonderful scene to non soulies, the times i've been asked to explain it to family members,work mates etc.is alway's too much like hard work, they don't understand nor can they grasp what we are all about which makes me wonder we are part of a special scene, you tell them £20.00 for a record reaction wow!!! £50.00 you are mad is the reply, £100.00 plus you must have more money than sense, £300.00 and up they start talking about fishing or football, look at you like you just landed from Mars shake their heads and the conversation ends.I reply well i don't do normal things like go down the pub every night, or spend a fortune watching 22 young men kicking a ball about, or hitting the hell out of a small ball paying a thousand pounds to join a golf club, gambel or too many other vices or hobbies, be honest if you are into this music you don't often do anything else do we?...lol. My uncle Roy once asked me 'What's all this Northern Soul then'? i spent a good half hour trying to explain... which went 'well you know groups like The Temptations, Four Tops, Motown etc. well it's like that but different, the records were commercial flops, made by small record companies who tried to copy the Motown sound'.......glazed look from Uncle Roy, i lost interest as it was like i was speaking German or something.......' well Roy it's based on rare records, non hits'.........'yeh i like Motown Roy'....what you drinking? Chelsea did well last week!!!!! Regarding partners, girlfriends etc. i suggest you find a diamond like my Jacqui been on the scene longer than me, understands the addiction, bollocks me when i do spend our money on tunes, even put's up with my mindless conversation when we are watching television at night as from out of nowhere i ramble on about something to do with Northern Soul, oh and i tell her they all cost a fiver until the bank statement arrives.Personally i rather like being part of this almost secret society, how lucky we all are to get that magical buzz out of a vocal or harmony......some people go through their lives not really liking or understanding music as it's simply a back drop to their lives, the difference with us is the music is our lives......like Jacqui once said when interviewed...'Soul it's a feeling'...i guess that's why she puts up with me.
