  7. Eddie Hill - You Got The Best Of Me - Thelma, Robert Ward - Cry Me A River - Thelma, Jimmy Gilford - Nobody Loves Me Like My Baby - Thelma, Emanuel Lasky - I Got To Run For My Life - Thelma etc. etc. generic dross? I have no comment or personal opinion on Philadelphia International to be honest but if you are gonna site Thelma as generic dross, Motown sound-a-likes etc. then add Ric -Tic, Golden World, Arctic, Okeh etc. and a thousand other labels into the mix. Regards - Mark Bicknell.
  8. Thank you. Mark Bicknell.

  13. I remember DJ'ing at The Scala a few times way back, i think Danny Everard had something to do with running this event, pretty sure Guy Hennigan, Keb Darge played there, very strange nights i seem to remember with a very mixed crowd students, London in - crowd types and a solid support from the scene of the day, played movies allnight, cans of beer at £2.00 a go i seem to remember...lol Regards - Mark Bicknell.

  17. Perhaps i was mixing up the record thing with the longevity of the scene, i guess i meant enloy it to the full as time does pass us by far too quickly, also i do think this is music of a generation rather than future generations if you undestand what i mean......house partys thats the future...lol Mark Bicknell.
  18. I think the only thing that will kill off the Northern scene as we know it ain't the original V other format debate, wrongs, rights, politics etc. but plain and simple 'TIME' or rather the passing of time, some four decades now and at present still going strong but in truth once our generation finishes with this then that could be that, i suggest we all do our own thing, enjoy and collect what we like and get the most out of it, let's face it most of us are hooked for life, i'm into my 30th year on this scene and i'm a youngster compared to some people...lol Having said all this i love the music more now than i've ever done and i still get the same buzz hearing a tune, getting a tune etc. even today i got home from work and a nice little packed in my post basket from Mr Manship, upstairs, opened and on the turntable....magic, get's you away from all the shit you have to deal with at work etc. we should all treasure this beautiful unique scene even if it does go back underground. Regards - Mark Bicknell.
  19. Then I'm having another go then so there....Edwin Starr - You're My Mellow B/W My Kind Of Woman - Ric - Tic oh and Tony Hestor - Watch Yourself B/W Just Can't Leave You...ok so that's two more goes ......sorry. Mark Bicknell. Simply awesome Mark Bicknell.

  21. Andy...i'm always flipping them on my show mate.....two for the price of one kind of deal and i'm too bone idle to get another record ready sometimes......keep them coming...lol Mark Bicknell.
  22. A better record you will not find for fifty quid, rated this for years, still to have it's day as a big record, if you don't know this buy it blind....fantastic. Mark Bicknell.
  23. Ok spoil sport...lol will have to be The Exits - 'Under The Street Lamp' B/W 'You Got To Have Money' for the simple reason both sides are awesome...will that do....lol Mark Bicknell.
