  1. Nice one Baz....lol as i said i don't personally subscibe to these type of records, people have tried to take on bootleggers before and failed as i say it's always been there and i take your point regarding these 45's not just being sold via Ebay oh and i have no desire to do anything about it as again repeating myself it has nothing to do with the way i collect, i have nothing to gain by getting involved where as the likes of Tony/Ace etc. do and i'm sure they will follow up any solid leads that come there way, may i suggest we keep our bollocks out of this lol, nice one respect! Mark Bicknell.
  2. Point taken Baz, but if it's so easy to work out the source of these and who is behind them then why the need for this thread???? i guess we all have an idea of who is behind this but as ever some people think they are untouchable connected with this scene, if people feel strongly about this and have some information then should this not be passed on to the correct bodies i.e. the BPI, MCPS and all the record companies concerned such as Ace who have the right to seek litigation if they so desire, i suspect nothing will happen on this one and the protaganist will be left to ply their trade and continue to suck every last penny out of this practice and in the end the scene. Regards - Mark Bicknell.
  3. Have you all checked out this persons website?????Majestics, Tony Galla, Herb Ward RCA, and the list goes on! all fake, all bootlegs, i reckon whoever is behind this is simply sticking two fingers up to not only the legal implications but also to the scene in general, it matters very little to me personally as i never subscribe to these type of records...sorry that's an insult to records because these are not in the true sense of the word. I would suggest that these are not being pressed in the UK as i'm sure the likes of Tony/Ace etc. could with a little digging trace the source in the UK, I bet my Majestics Linda Demo that these are being made in the USA via a UK connection, as for Ebay well they as Tony pointed out don't give a toss do they? they just coin in the fees and f*** the rules and guidlines they claim to set out, having said that if people did'nt buy these records then that would simply shut these fuckers down. Still bootlegs have gone hand in hand with this scene since pretty much it's inception......still that don't make it right does it? never has and never will in my book. Regards - Mark Bicknell.
  4. Silly me...cheers Ricky for spotting that error, i put the 6th instead of 26th, thanks mate. Regards - Mark Bicknell.

I began back in November 2000 firstly with a very late show on Saturday nights between 2am through to 4am, moving to the now established Sunday night 8pm through 10pm slot which is the perfect time for the show to broadcast i think. It's been a little rocky over the years with the funding issues and problems but as always the scene has supported me through the tuff times, special thanks go out to all 'Friends Of The Soul Shack' who have helped and offered financial support over the years which include - Andy McCabe - Soultown Promotions, Neil Jones and Jayne Malone - North Manchester Soul Club, Chris Waterman and Lee Crank - New Century Soul Club, Mark Ethridge and all at Ponds Forge, Sheffield, Paul Donnely, Stuart Cosgrove, Jo Wallace, The Orwell Boys, Dave Thorley, Val And Dave Box, many Soul fans i don't even know who showed support, well basically everyone they know who they are. The recent fund raises at The Orwell in Wigan and at The Marine Broker in London plus all of the many donations have basically kept the 'Soul Shack' rocking so many thanks again to everyone. Big thanks also to Eddie Edmondson - Soul In The Sun for his recent advertising on the show. The Guests. 11. Hi Joan, Would seem so yes, he told me he sold a few big ticket things a few years ago but has kept the bulk of his collection and i think the above list reflects he still holds a few nice items in a pretty large 45 collection. Regards - Mark Bicknell.

  18. Paul/Chalky, don't tell anyone who it is, it's Dave's little secret...lol Regards - Mark Bicknell.
  19. Most kind....shucks!!! Mark Bicknell.
  20. Russ, thanks for your kind words and comments, i think it's really quite simple this one, basically if you stick with quality from whatever era then you are half way there mate, i'm basically an oldies DJ with a pretty solid collection, i'm pretty selective in what i now buy, i think both from the club and radio perspective slightly different areas i know but i try to maintain a certain standard and i guess style, add a few semi known or forgotton gems in the mix and it kind of puts your own style and stamp on what you play, passion for the music helps which we all have, dig deep and give it to em' mate. Regards - Mark Bicknell.
