  1. Not to mention......T - Shirts, Badges,Mugs,Clocks, Cufflinks,Watches,Coasters not the group the things you put a drink on...lol and pretty much everything else you can put the Northern Soul - Keep The Faith logo on, if you can wade through page after page of this stuff then there are still a few nice bargains to be found, like Mark said Ebay is not exclusive to Rare and Authentic records it's there for everyone to use, i agree with Stevie it's swamped with this tack, just frustrating to have to wade through page after page of it, trouble is most of it goes unsold and as with the set price 'buy it now' overpriced 45's as Rod pointed out it all goes round and round in the mix. Regards - Mark Bicknell.
  2. Had all three records for years now, good then, still sound good now, at a push 'Ten To One' has the edge but love all three, proper Northern Soul. Regards - Mark Bicknell.
  3. Both sides Pete, corking little record and as you state copies dried up now, i reckon i paid about a tenner way back, seen it for over a ton mate. Regards - Mark Bicknell.
  4. Sorry Roccia/Godzilla, i see what you mean now i thought were the records or groups connected in someway, as i said agree they do sound perhaps similar and yes it happened a lot back then. Regards - Mark Bicknell.
  5. OOOOOOhhhhhhhhhhhhh Baby Cakes to you and all Mrs......Happy Christmas. From Mark Bicknell.
  6. Soul and inspiration and all that reckon i just might play a few selections via The Esquires on next Sunday's show...thanks guys. Regards - Mark Bicknell.
  7. Sorry Roccia but you asked in your original post if there was a connection somewhere between the two 45's, they may sound similar but there is no musical or label connection between the two, two seperate records and groups from two different cities....the only connection if any is they are both stunning records. Regards - Mark Bicknell.
  8. I just said that well almost..was it just Daryl Hall or both of them...i knew there was some connection...lol Mark Bicknell.
  9. None what so ever Roccia, One - Derful / M-Pac was Chicago based and Arctic was out of Philadelphia, also The Temptones were a Blue Eyed outfit i'll think you will find that Daryl Hall And John Oates of 'Hall and Oats' fame were group members of The Temptones and at a guess i would think The Ringleaders were of Afro American decent. Regards - Mark Bicknell.
  10. I really did not want to get involved with this thread or post a comment to be honest, like i said i'm not full on with the DJ thing anymore infact i have declined many gigs this year and canceled a few too due to mainly work commitments, i get a far greater buzz and satifaction out of presenting the show every Sunday and collecting records for me rather than worrying about filling a dance floor to perhaps be shot down in flames by someone i don't know for trying to entertain. Good luck and more power to everyone who can stand up there behind a set of 1210's and cut the mustard...it's a little more involved though than simply cuing up a record...cheers. Regards - Mark Bicknell.
  11. Why don't people just get on and do there own thing and do it rather than endless debate, if you believe in your heart of hearts that you stay true to yourself and the music you play then you can't really ask for more. I'm pretty much part time now on the scene as i really can't be doing with all the negatives, not only are there too many DJ's but there is too much of everything and the scene is bending like a plastic ruler and at some stage it's gonna snap.....enjoy what you do now as for sure the scene ain't gonna be around forever? however the music will. What x,y,z local DJ plays has little interest to me what's far more important from my own personal perspective is to have my own house in order and present 'Rare Soul' when i'm asked to play a few at a venue is to do it the best possibly way i can within my means down the authentic 45 route, it's the only way i know how to do it, how others present it is up to them, like Chalky and others have said anything less well it's taking short cuts to be honest....Rare means not often seen, hard to locate or find and when you consider that this scene is based and founded on rare records does not playing second or third generation records or other formats whatever the style, era or tempo make it all a bit of contridiction in terms and somewhat of a joke, again this is a personal opinion and am i not intitled to an opinion being someone who has done a few gigs over the years, this debate will rage until the scene does come to an end and there is no clear outcome on the horizon, what should be important is the survival of the scene for those who wish to participate. Regards - Mark Bicknell.

  17. I know, i'm on another Gordy one with an hour to go so should be ok, the things we have to do playing Father Christmas.....lol Regards - Mark Bicknell.
  18. Looking for a clean Copy Of 'Tempting Temptations' LP for the little chap on your left, he's getting a set of decks for Christmas....That's My Boy!!!!....lol and although he's only 10 he loves The Temptations, managed to get him a re issue of 'Meet The Temps' so 'Tempting' would make a nice pair for his stocking, re issue is fine so if anyone can help contact bicknellmark@aol.com or tel 0161 330 6267. Regards and thanks - Mark Bicknell.
  19. Cheers for all the feedback and comments on this one, will put one or the other up in 'Sales Section' with some other stuff in the next few days at a reasonable price....lol Regards - Mark Bicknell.
  20. Ditto this is a tune and a half, also have White Demo, very radio friendly lol. Regards - Mark Bicknell.
  21. Thank you...you are a gentleman, made my pretty aweful week at work a joy....lol Regards - Mark Bicknell.
  22. Good question....the one i can remember buying first was i think Little Anthony And The Imperials - Better Use Your Head B/W Gonna Fix You Good - UK United Artists re issue from Rumblows in Reading would have been 1976 i think. Latest an all time want took ages to locate is The Liberty Belles - Shing A Ling Time - Shout White Demo made up with this, still gives me a buzz this record lark...lol Mark Bicknell.
  23. One of Mr Croasdell's finest moments i feel, imagine being in the room when Ady first heard this???? the words 'me' and 'F**k' spring to mind, sublime tune, if this was a released record it would be without question a four figure record in terms of it's production and quality or perhaps a cheapie if it had come out on Wand....lol, but it's not, so with a little hunting anything from £40 to £75.00 i'm sure will secure a copy....STUNNING TUNE. Regards - Mark Bicknell.
  24. I was just gonna say that...superb double header. Mark Bicknell.
