Just got off the phone with Carl Lewis at 'Starpoint' and basically there was a problem with the output sound card on the station computer, any show either recorded to mini disc or directly uploaded would have failed to broadcast as it was a sound problem rather than a direct problem with the show my end, this problem has now been corrected and service should be back to normal next Sunday, thanks for your concerns, text's and phone call's directly to 'Starpoint' on Sunday and again really sorry for the lost show but this was totally out of mine and the station's control. Regards - Mark Bicknell.

Thanks Alan and again sorry to everyone for tonights show problems, will try and find out what's gone on if I can and I'm sure things will be back to normal next week. Regards - Mark Bicknell.

I really have no idea what the problems were, I tuned in just to check all was ok at just after 10pm on Sky and it sounded terrible, there has to be a real problem at the station for this to happen, I sent an email and a text to the station and requested that they pull the show if the problem could not be resolved, the gremlin seemed to have messed up tonights broadcast totally and all I can say is sorry, things happen sometimes which are totally out of my control, I'm sure things will be back to normal next weekend and again sorry for the problems. Regards - Mark Bicknell.

Update Sunday 16th December, big sorry again for the missing show last Sunday there was a major gremlin in the works last weekend which has now been corrected and things will be back to normal with tonight's show from 10pm - Midnight - www.starpointradio.com - there will also be a special Christmas show going out next Sunday 23rd December for any special requests, mentions, dedications please contact me as soon as possible i.e. today if you wish them to be included in the show next week. bicknellmark@aol.com How time fly's the new show has now been running a little over a month and everything is going so well, the feedback and support has been fantastic and it seems that many people have followed me over from the old station to www.starpointradio.com just to remind everyone that the 'Soul Shack' now broadcasts on Starpoint Radio every Sunday night between 10pm - Midnight on www.starpoitradio.com and on Sky Digital. Attention Promoters, Venues, Record Sellers, Lables etc. please feel free to contact me on bicknellmark@aol.com for a mention, plug, preview and review, I do weekly venue 'what's on' and I'm only to happy to mention any or all events and promotions and soul related products such as re issue CD's and vinyl releases the station can also offer very reasonable advertising packages at very reasonable rates please feel free to contact Carl Lewis directly at the station www.starpoint13.com and he will gladly provide you with detailed information and prices. Venue/Club Spotlights, these are far more detailed than just a venue plug, if you wish to have your event Spotlighted in far greater depth then I am also happy to do this, covering all aspects of the venue, DJ's, venue location, future dates, club history, music policy and playlist and will work in some examples of music played whenever possible, again this is another idea and strand to expand the boundries of the show to benifit all promotions who wish to be included again please send full details to bicknellmark@aol.com Rare Soul Man's Selections www.raresoulman.co.uk and www.soulmusic.co.uk selections, both John Manship and Steve Plumb have become true friends of the 'Soul Shack' over the years supplying me with recommended soul selections review and preview 45's, basically providing the show with a fine selection of 45's from their websites and mailing lists to play on the show from time to time and this will once again become a regular feature in future shows spotlighting some fantastic tunes from two well respected top record dealers. All Kent and Kent Select future 45 releases will also be supported by the 'Soul Shack' as will all Kent CD compilations put together by Ady Croasdell. Guest DJ's and Collectors will again become a regular feature in the New Year as in previous shows, so watch this space as I intend to invite some top names into the studio which is alway's interesting and a musical treat to look forward too. I'll be calling upon the likes of Steve Plumb, Dave Rimmer, Keith Williams, Flanny, Dave Thorley and many others to share thier collections and Soul...watch this space. Tony, no one's mate is the answer, I present for Starpoint Radio now and of course had almost seven years on Solar, I constantly invite everyone promoters etc. to provide me with venue information which I will read out, this service is free of charge and I apply it to people who can be bothered to supply the information, Starpoint is a commercial station and Chris Waterman the promoter of the CIS event took out paid advertising with the station leading up to the event last night again this service is there for everyone who promotes and cares to put their hand in their pockets and pay for it, you may remember I did give your event a mention when you kindly asked me to DJ a couple of years ago when I was still at Solar, I give all events I play a mention on my show and one's I don't DJ at, I try to give a detailed event what's on when I can but if I read out all the events that are currently on then I would end up playing about two records in a two hour show. So it's nothing to do with knob sucking here more to do with communication, like I say I will gladly read out any and all events if the information is supplied to me but I'm buggered if I'm gonna chase people or random select venues to promote on the show, simple really send me details and I will read it out don't and I won't or I can't if I don't have the details or information, don't assume as presenters we somehow only read out or supply information for selective gigs as this is simply not true, I promote, review, preview, records, CD's, Magazines, venues in a fair across the board manner for all companies, promotions and venues. Yes I promote gigs I'm DJ'ing at as it cuts both ways but I also invite anyone to supply the details for a mention or plug. Regards - Mark Bicknell - Starpoint Radio - Tha Soul Shack www.starpointradio.com

"Remember when you ran away and I got on my hands and kness and begged you not to leave because I'd go burserk! well you left me anyhow and now the days got worse and worse and now you see I've gone completley out of my mind...and their coming to take me away ha! ha! he! he! ho! ho! he! he! to the funny farm where life is beautiful all the time and I'll be happy to see those nice young men in their clean white coats and their coming to take me away ha ha he he! I cooked your food and cleaned your house and this is all I get for all my kind unselfish loving deeds! well you just wait they'll find you yet and when they do do that stick in in the ASPCA you mangy mut!....and their coming to take me away ha! ha! he! he! to the funny farm where life is beautiful all the time and I'll be happy to see those nice young men in their clean white coats and their coming to take me away"!!!!!!!! ha! ha! he! he!.........................nothing to do with the thread but lighten the load guy's let's all do our own thing and get on with it before it drives us all around the bend, the scene is full of moovers and shakers, mavericks, DJ's, Collectors, dealers, dancers etc...but all in all are we not blessed to have access to this music? how we enjoy it, collect it, play it, dance to it is basically each to his or her own, how you run with it is down to choice, where you go to listen to it is down to choice, influence and guidence is welcome but discovery and following your own line is for many the way forward. Regards - Mark Bicknell.

Stunning record which I've played on the radio show on and off over the last few years, possibly one of the harder Port 45's to locate and if JM has this for £50.00 I would snap his hand off for it, yet to have it's day as a huge record, been around years and did get a little turntable action way back but never a huge record...watch the interest build on this one now. Flip side ain't bad either. Regards - Mark Bicknell.

A hard record to locate (original that is) has to be £125/150.00. Regards - Mark Bicknell.
