  1. Hi Ezzie, I'm not really interested in if it's been played/overplayed or still being played more the fact I simply want the record back as it's two superb sides and something I would like to play on my radio show from time to time which is pretty much all the DJ'ing I'm doing at the present time, agree with you on the price I think I paid about a tenner for my old copy which I let go way back. Regards - Mark Bicknell.
  2. Ok so who was the joker that outbid me on Ebay by $2.50 then?????? lol so still looking for a nice clean copy if anyone can help me out send a PM or email bicknellmark@aol.com Regards - Mark Bicknell.
  3. I think this is all down to and something JM touched on here is that 'knowledge is power' knowing your subject and if unsure alway's try to get a second opinion before you part with your cash if you are uncertain about a records authenticity, if you have been around records as long as most of us have then it's like a built in six sense when something is iffy or not quite right, again experence and knowledge of the subject is key, now I'm not for one minute suggesting that we all know it all but as it's already been said there are certain things to look out for and in most cases an authentic example is out there to compare to, a prime example that springs to mind is 'John And The Weirdest' a few years ago when one or two people who perhaps should have known their subject better got dupped with a conterfiet, not sure of the circumstances on this one but I believe that the error was missed until a third party told them otherwise that the copies were fake, again 'knowledge is power' of course there are other examples regarding people being dupped with counterfiet records and I'm sure it will happen again in the future, I'm just glad the likes of JM and others will alway's offer advice and their opinion on a record's authenticity and it might well be wise to alway's get a second opinion if you are unsure no matter how much we think we know. Regards - Mark Bicknell.

  20. I'm having a ball on Ebay at the moment, staying away from the big ticket £2,000.00 records which get the big interest sometimes the little interesting bit's and bob's sometimes slip through the net. Regards - Mark Bicknell.
  21. With you on that Russ, once you can detact from the emotional attatchment of certain records then the process of selling is not a major problem, certain records as you say I just can't part with, George Blackwell, Sam Williams, Ronnie McNeir, Dena Barnes, Billy Prophet, Bobby Kline, Melvin Davis, Duke Browner etc. etc. I'm having more fun than ever, buy, sell, swap, trade seems to be the way for many of us, quality over quantity everytime for me these day's. Regards - Mark Bicknell.

  24. For Sale by Auction ( Auction closes Saturday 12th April) The New Yorkers - Don't Want To Be Your Fool - Tac-Ful, beautiful condition copy of this indemand top tune, play's mint with no hiss, skips, jumps or surface noise, would grade this copy as M- PM or email bicknellmark@aol.com Serious offers please. Regards - Mark Bicknell.
  25. The first copy I had was way back early 80's when it was covered up as 'Trade Martin' I think? paid about 50 quid for that one sold it on for about the same, then found one in Chicago which I kept for a bit then was offered £150.00 for it several years ago at a Cleethorpes weekender, then got the copy I have now off Ebay for about 40 quid then got another one off Ebay a couple of years back cheap and sold it on for a ton, so as Pete stated this would appear to be eaiser to find than being an auction record but who know's? still think it's a good record though. Regards - Mark Bicknell.
