  8. Ditto mate, by far their best record, awesome does it for me everytime, as for getting them over to the UK I think the cost involved would be too much to promote, they still work throughout the USA and the fee alone would be out of reach for most events overhere except somewhere like Prestatyn maybe. Regards - Mark Bicknell.
  9. Judging by the lead vocalist I should say they are the same group, almost certain they are, fantastic record and hard to find WDJ. Regards - Mark Bicknell.
  10. Make that 101 pre orders please Dave, oh my soul, wonderful stuff. Regards - Mark Bicknell.
  11. Hi Rick, well mate what can I say, had a lot on my plate recently, some good some bad but as I never really said anything this time regarding my involvement or quiting the scene it's been more the case I've been that busy with business, family, football and other stuff that the scene has taken a bit of a back seat, what I did say was certain aspects on the current scene really bore the shit out of me more so all the bullshit, falling out etc. I've had good reason to get involved with the negative stuff but chose not to,finished the radio show which despite what some may think was my choice, went to 4 gigs last year and not been anywhere this year, knocked back or declined a bunch of DJ bookings last year, some of the negative stuff basically really get's on my pip so better to simply ignore it and rise above it, just spent the last two hours sorting records out as I've had an invite to spin a few tunes for Mr Croasdell very soon so it looks like I'm crawling out from under my rock and hit a few gigs real soon, the bottom line for me and the fundimental most important thing about this scene is without question the music, as with so many of us I feel I can still make a contribution so instead of talking about it I just want to get out there from time to time and play a few tunes, no fuss, no bollocks just back to basics and have some much needed fun. Regards - Mark Bicknell. Regards - Mark Bicknell.
  12. Lol sounds like me priceless. Regards - Mark Bicknell.
  13. Chuck Jackson and Wee Willie Walker by a country mile, awesome. Regards - Mark Bicknell.
  14. Fantastic Benji, nothing will shock me mate as I can't remember anything of that crazy period....lol be good to hear them though as I've heard about there being recordings but never heard them ever, so it will be maybe embarrassment for me but well worth that just to hear them, you must admit we were good.......lol Regards - Mark Bicknell.
  15. Was it Joan I can't remember lol, best one I can remember was during one of those mental radio broadcasts was Woody's farm yard impression...went something like 'get off my ff'ing tractor' priceless as I choked on my bacon butty...lol Regards - Mark Bicknell
  16. James stop it lol Regards - Mark Bicknell.
  17. Very scary indeed....lol scares me and I was part of it lol Regards - Mark Bicknell.
  18. Think I can match Chris on this one I was 22 back in 1982 but come to think about it I could have played a few tunes there in 1981? with a fair few guest spots over the years, about time I made a return visit lol I'm 49 in May, bugger me scary this how time passes by, still the best club in the land to DJ at. Regards - Mark Bicknell.
  19. Bet someone snapped his hand off too....lol Regards - Mark Bicknell.
  20. I have the Mir-A-Don Ascots set of three 'Another Day', 'Miss Heartbreaker' without group name on lable and 'Anytime', fab group, super hard to find set of three with 'Another Day' being the jewel in the crown, Stafford Top Of The World at it's very best, has to be £800.00 of anyone's money, blinding record. Regards - Mark Bicknell.
  21. Yes Phil I do, just thought about that when I saw this want, think I had 6/8 copies at that time, the funny thing was I sold all of them at the time and ended up buying one back off Ebay a few years ago for a little more than a tenner....lol seem to remember that one or two of the copies I had were VG but the others were mint, good to hear you still have yours Phil. Regards - Mark Bicknell.
  22. What's on the table for one of these then? Regards - Mark Bicknell.
  23. How about getting someone with a true passion to do the voice over, someone who knows what they are talking about and someone who is actually on the scene and can do the whole thing justice, Rod Shard Modernsoulsucks on is your're best bet to contact Dave who now lives in America. Regards - Mark Bicknell.
  24. Why don't you contact John Anderson directly at Soul Bowl, he's still trading and I'm sure he would have some of his old lists knocking about, pretty sure John could help you out if you are prepared to cross his palm with silver or anyone else who may offer material. Regards - Mark Bicknell.
  25. I saw on television the other day that most films now made with under a ten million budget fail to make any money, most independent films in the true sense of the word fail to gain any major distribution and are often destined at best to go straight to DVD, nothing of course to do with how good the film may or not be but simple fact as the big budget productions stand a lot better chance of finding an audience with over the top mass saturation advertising etc. I really hope this movie is a true masterpiece and does well in commercial terms. Regards - Mark Bicknell.
