  1. Just a quick question to the value of Big Dons Rebellion - It Was True - Ethon White Demo, seems there's a difference in book value between the Plum label £300.00 and £350.00 for the yellow label, seen a few copies of these for sale over the years but never the demo, any ideas? Regards - Mark Bicknell.
  2. Suprised you've had no action on this Nev, seem to remember it going for a bit more than your asking price a bit back, still it's getting tuff selling records it seems, more records for sale than you can shake a stick at, not been on Ebay for ages but had a good look last night and tons of good stuff at 'Buy It Now' and others in the auction with no bids not to mention all the dealers, stuff offered on here alone grows on a daily basis, said it before but there seems to be a record mountain building out there bigger than mount Everest I suspect, Emotions is a top top tune by the way. Regards - Mark Bicknell.
  3. Funny this, was it not the council of the day that played a major part in closing the Casino in the first place, now they want to celebrate it, cue all that is naff to get involved with this little beauty, as ever let's go back in time and milk the golden cow who's udders are well shot already without it being milked anymore, quite frankly this type of thing is total bollocks, I don't subscribe to any of it, keep the faith on this one or rather stick it where the sun don't shine. Regards - Mark Bicknell.

  17. One of the main reasons I don't DJ that much anymore is because of the exspectation and demands of the dance floor which in most cases is the same old same as, to be frank it bores the shit out of me to be honest, the odd spot where you have a free hand on the selections you play are few and far between but worth it when you can express what you are really about musically, far too often we hear it's what the paying public want but do people not get fed up and bored with hearing the same tunes week in week out? We have over forty years of records and club culture to select from so there is really no need to play the same tunes constantly, would it not be fair to suggest that we can select and cherry pick all the best bits which is certainly my intention with the Droylsden allnighter in the future. Regards - Mark Bicknell.
  18. Gentle bump, thanks.
  19. Willie Wade - ''When Push Comes To Shove' and the flip 'Come Into My World' - Nite Life one of the daddies in this style. The Inverts - 'Time Will Change' - Broadway, sublime record. Lovelace Watkins - 'Dreams' - Sue Ray Pollard - 'The Drifter' - United Artists, one of the classic down tempo tunes, awesome. Jimmy Gilford - 'Heartbreaker' - Solid Hitbound, a dream of a record possibly my favorite in the down tempo style. Harry Starr - 'Step Into My World' - End, awesome flip of 'Another Time, Another Place'. The Exsaveyons - ''Somewhere' flip to 'I Don't Love You No More' - Smoke. Jimmy Helms - 'You're Mine, You' - Symbol. The Intentions - 'Don't Forget That I Love You' - Philips - Stunning simply stunning. The Intrigues - 'Don't Refuse My Love' - Port. Johnny Newbag - 'Sweet Thing' - Port. Jimmy Ricks - 'Oh What A Feeling' - Festival Otis Clay - 'Tired Of Falling In (And Out Of) Love' - Onederful, never a better twenty quid will you spend, try finding a demo though took me years. Flip to The Heartbreakers - 'I've Got To Face It' on Derby City 'How Do You Say Goodbye', talk about emotion, gut wrenching oh my god takes me to another place this one. Flip to Johnny Moore 'Walk Like A Man on Date 'It's Just My Way Of Loving You' wow simply wow! A few more upstairs but Mrs B. is still asleep lol will remind myself later of a few more, love this style, give me an armchair anyday. Regards - Mark Bicknell.
