  3. First trip to Coniston this year... Black Bull pub recommended..its own brewery helps. Ed
  4. Great account. We used to get a bus from Conisbrough Mexborough Wath almost every week for years around 77. Call off at Wakefield first (Mitre) then the 'bank' in Leeds then down to the central. Bub(RIP) was there also. Great times. Only been back once, to see Terry Callier (RIP). It was full of Stoòodunts... Best wishes to those that run it now. Ed
  5. Overcast and 17deg Whitby today. Better for walking I guess. Ed
  6. I see what you mean. Both records have great bits in it, but other bits where the singers seem to lose concentration. Just about sums up all the records I love.. Ed
  7. I second that emotion.. The back story to Tomangoes makes it even more intriguing.. Ed
  8. Indeed... Good for starting a conversation... The boy just sits where he wants.. Ed
  9. Baxter the sand eater.. Ed
  10. Rare soul...a better investment than BP or Shell... I should have held on to my Ronnie McNeir instead of flogging it for £50. Alfie Davidson price is incredible. Ed
  11. RIP Bobby Some great tracks highlighted. Many more on the tube. A true talent lost. Ed
  12. Sutton on Sea looking towards skeggy. Wind turbines are not to everybody's taste.. Ed
  13. Camping glamping...its a bit much when camping is once again a luxury.. Ed
  14. Always thought it was Scott Breedon.... Need to get my ears cleaned. A legend indeed. So sad he passed too early. A fitting tribute telling his story in such a detailed way. Somebody make a film or stage play! Ed
  15. Where are all these folks now? Is there still a scene? Retro scene? Ed
  16. Drat...my limit was £2700. Ah well looks like a fortnight in Tenerife instead. Ed
  17. Today in Sarasota, just sent by a friend monitoring the storms... Ed
  18. £4k estimate....the lock downs are easing off...some up and coming dj will want to open with this and the recently sold William Powell ! George Lemons, who was sentenced to life without parole in 1987 for triple murder and died in prison in 1996. Not your average artist or sound...reluctantly I have to admit its hard not to sing along to. Ed
  19. Probably not this.... But not heard it in ages, and its not far away. Ed
  20. It was at the time....like Betty Boo. No mention of original vinyl in the topic, just soul 45 and dj, as I understood it tracks that are associated with a certain dj. Ed
  21. I've read a few times on JM auction description that this super rare brilliant must have mega expensive record is in mint unplayed condition. No doubt a nice item to own....but. Maybe owners of such gems buy these reissues to play instead of the original? After 50 years of playing some records week in week out, there can't be much left in the grooves.. Ed
  22. Was there a "SOUL" MOTOWN collection at East Michigan University also? One of every release etc. Ed
  23. We don't seem to get a month goes by without a soul star passing. RIP Sharon. Great memories will live on. Ed
