  1. Came across this on the tube..and thought what's the day job of DJs..anything as unusual as this? Ed
  2. When the rca white demos flooded the market..indeed they did about 79, I got a willie Kendriks...and never tried the flip. Duh... Still 25 paid and 50 sold was a good deal back then. Ed
  3. Top sound when I was 14. Up there with the snake right now... Just saying. Ed
  4. Well for sure, I bet nobody else has got that combination....was it Billy's own copy? Ed
  5. Was it played as a new release? The kind of tune that's great but soul bowl had boxes full. Ed
  6. Elvis and the beatles etc signed stuff really does bump up the price. Last time I was in nu yak, in Jan this year, Tony was playing at a mid town hotel. Not sure he has that big a following outside our world. As long as its not personal, it might appeal to artist collectors more than an unsigned copy. Ed
  7. Not that many of us will be in this position....but if you have 100,000 euros in a citibank account, they will charge you for holding it. Thats right, no interest, just a cost for holding. Soo...investing in vinyl may well be a good hedge if you got a few Bob or get an inheritance... Prices do seem to be moving up constantly. Ed
  8. Without opening the proverbial can of worms...spot on about Tim Tam. Ed
  9. Thought this tribute was fitting to remember some of the great tunes Len was involved in. Ed
  10. YBGTL is in a class of its own. Thanks for posting. Ed
  11. Brilliant stuff.. Ann Sexton next? Ed
  12. I remember seeing the ads in the echoes for St Ives. It was never quite clear at first glance it was not in Cornwall.... Ed
  13. What a voice. Cracks me up every time she goes up and down the scales..RIP. Any stories of those who found her, brought her to cleggy etc, and the adulation she felt? Ed
  14. Great Post....I remember my mate telling me about this massive cleggy tune by Betty boo...and that it was going to get played at Rovrum assembly rooms nappy night. Late 76 early 77, I'd say. But hey, what about this I've never heard before, mentioned in that same black echoes issue...and I loved the attractions which is a proper forgotten oldie. Ed
  15. Servicemen massive at Wakefield Unity, Billy Arnell at CWG. Never heard this Flamma....but Nev Wherry RIP did champion tracks like it. He played Bobby Goldsbro tracks to death at KGB. Most underplayed records have had a second coming, so to speak. Unless this is shit rare, somebody would have gave it a go.... Ed
  16. New to me. Can't see it taking off second time around. Ed
  17. Impressive...and all that jazz. OKeh. Okeh Records is an American record label founded by the Otto Heinemann Phonograph Corporation, a phonograph supplier established in 1916, which branched out into phonograph records in 1918. The name was spelled "OkeH" from the initials of Otto K. E. Heinemann but later changed to "OKeh". Duh.. I thought it was from an american Indian word, okeh, used as an affirmative reply to a question.. Or an expansion of the miss spelt abbreviation of all korrect (ok) first printed in 1839 alledgidly... Ed
  18. Nice record cleaner. Makes Bubs Jumper antiquated... Ed
  19. Welcome to the yellow card club... Ed
  20. Rare Stamps.... Heartstoppers... Ed
  21. The real deal icon of Northern Soul labels. I bet there's more folks got tats of this than any other label! I practised re creating it a thousand times as a 15 year old! Ed
  22. I'd still like to own a few of them.. Rain was a massive 5 times a night play at the winter Gardens....how tastes change. Ed
  23. Amazed the artist still knows all the words! Some brilliant tracks there. Changing by the minute should have been a bigger hit on the scene. Some of the crowd a bit disrespectful to be honest....after all this was a living legend on our scene... Thanks for posting. Ed
