  1. Lots of threads on here, if you research. I got a signed copy of this in LA 2004, which explains a lot on the popular records, and a little on the way of life. Ed
  2. A great story! So nice for the family to know of the history and acheivement. Ed
  3. September is just made for the floor.... Gil Scott Heron eat your heart out! Ed
  4. Loved it! Opening 5....really gets you in the swing. Ed
  5. West Burton waterfall right now.. Ed
  6. He was certainly unique. A man mountain, in every way. DJd pretty much everywhere, and was a very friendly guy. Used to finish off at Cleethorpes Winter Gardens all dayers, and played to and for the crowd. He even appeared as a child extra in the film KES... Ed
  7. Indeed. A few threads on here about my old mate RIP. Ed
  8. Its too late for mistakes now. If you are going to sell a rare record, and include a back story, and you've been doing this for a long long time, you better get your facts right or your reputation is blown away. Never mind the quality, feel the width...springs to mind. Of course we all make mistakes... My thoughts were the first release was a detroit production since a writer with that name is mentioned on several detroit records. If its actually a different R Davies...fair do's Ed
  9. My money is on Johnny ' does this for a living ' Manship. Ed
  10. Ha ha.... I don't think so..... Ed
  11. That locations track must be fairly rare? Its a great simple low budget detroit production, but it must be the rarity that takes it to plus fifteen hundred. Detroit collectors must have deep pockets! Ed
  12. An earlier appearance...if you had a few shillings for the grilled snacks.. Ed
  13. The gospel is gripping. You just don't get the intensity in other genres. You can see how soul is born. It means something. Thanks for posting. Ed
  14. Always worth a listen. Great version. Ed
  15. RIP Mr Price. What a fascinating life he had. It should be made into a movie someday. Ed
  16. The last track is really nice. Thanks for posting. Ed
  17. Don't forget though we are talking about an auction site. There's books and books wrote about the adrenalin pumping as a sale is ending, which translates into extreme behaviour, just to win. Same on that homes under the hammer, some folks double their initial maximum, and mostly kick themselves after I suspect. These sky high prices would never be reached in a set sale, because no seller could imagine any buyer would pay that much. Its a trait that's here to stay, thats for sure. Ed
  18. Kejserens nye klæder History repeating itself... Ed
  19. I doubt there would be many duplicate top 500s if it come to it.... These prices must simply reflect the size of the market for collecting original vinyl. Its a world wide market place for sure. £100 grands worth has turned into a £million in twenty years. Its definitely a serious business these days. Ed
  20. OMG Saxie Russel fifteen hundred notes! A nought too many...these were very common, even I had one! Ed
  21. Trust the dj to pick that up....:) And voice like..... Ed
  22. Saved the best till last.. Reginald ‘Stop to think it over’ (Out-Let Productions) 7’ Class. Ed
