  1. Got to share this one from today.... Ed
  2. Playing a bit of background norvun whilst enjoying some heat from the firepit..... I swear the flames were dancing along. Ed
  3. Wow! First class show. Plenty new to me. Track 5 a league of its own. Ed
  4. Glad Mary is well. Seems like 5 minutes ago she was spinning Gwen & Ray at the WG. Rarely heard anybody else play it since... Ed
  5. Looking at ebay a few days ago.. Some "pressings" are selling at daft prices... Anything original and clean and in demand is open to super inflation especially in an auction! Ed
  6. Very atmospheric played loud at an all nighter.. I'm sure somebody somewhere knows how many sold/were produced. £5k would be astonishing. Imagine if Northern Soul took off in the middle East with the oil rich kids buying into it:) Great title for an auction item...I don't like to lose. Ed
  7. From a friend with a long drive showing a great sunset.. Ed
  8. Had some spare wall stones, and £100 in Heather's and other cheap plants. My attempt at a rockery....a bit of colour at the back door. Baxter was helping. Ed
  9. I did not know this.. Epsilon is the fifth letter of the Greek alphabet, Must have got harder to pick a unique name back then... Ed
  10. I've often thought I'd heard two slightly different versions, but not sure on what's what. What a tune though when you first get into the scene! Tailor made and brilliant. Used to pack the floor at baileys nappy nights. Ed
  11. I don't think anybody can condem any particular promoter for this issue. I remember reading about the skeggy butlitz do a few years ago where I'm sure somebody ruffed up Minshull rip. Then there was the guy who videos lots of dancers who has a liquid thrown in his face. Let's face it, in all social get togethers..there's always a chance of anti social behaviour. The main thing is the perpetrators need ejecting ASAP, and then banning. Perhaps a blacklist of dodgy characters should circulate between promoters to help stamp this scurge out. Ed
  12. Bought an lp with this on around 1979. At least twenty years ago I last played it....too lazy to play last i guess! Enjoy. Ed
  13. I think if you list a record on ebay, it will tell you an expected sale price based on previous sales of the same record? Might be worth experimenting with one or two sales on there first to see if you do well. Anything worth a grand or more...selling via Johnny Manship and his colourful language may still get you the grand etc even after his commission. As with everything in life, knowledge is power, or in this case, pound notes, figuratively speaking. Ed
  14. Knob head or nobhead ...that is the question! I doubt anybody under 50 even uses that fantastic derogatory term these days! Ed
  15. The back garden with a real strange array of twighlight colours.. Ed
  16. Just read about the sudden death of the Labelle member. Very sad news. Lady Marmalade was a big soulful disco hit, that we all sang! Looking at this early video, and what a singer she was ( bare with the poor ish quality, and long intro). Ed
  17. Been to Maggie Mays in Sheff and had a great time, no hassle, one week....another week, as described in the post. Just luck of the draw I guess. Horse and groom, Donny, chill out. No hassle. Same venue, handbags afternoon...can be lively. Thats more to do with music policy...a refined crowd at the former, and lots of general public at the latter. Ed
  18. Third advert in max waist 36.... If you were 36 then, you were a chunky. If you are 36 now...you are lucky Ed
  19. I'm 59 and too young to offer an official reply...but a couple of cds came out a while back that offered a starter for ten. Ed
  20. The three star jumper... Although I saw a few of the type shown previously, I had no idea where you got them from. I had to make do with 3 stars in a line from Lester's in Donny. This had the latest fashions on a few months time lag. No idea what 3 stars represented then...or now for that matter. A bit bay city rollers style really. Ed
  21. Pretty much the disco soundtrack of my youth...just missing Jam Jam Jam ed
  22. Problem what I see is that within a few days the topic will dissappear from the top 10 places because nobody is adding to it. Let us know if you do get lots of pm. Ed
  23. Great choices again. Ed
  24. RIP. Another songbird who could reach the top notes and get you attention. Ed
  25. Absolutelybloodyfantastic. Just glad he knew his value on our scene. Ed
