HIs best by far (which shows you how good it is as I really rate his Northern records) and I would say his rarest, Butch spun it a couple of times some years ago. I would say this is a real bargain at todays prices. Is this the sort of Nostalgia that can aid progression, I hope so,The record of the era FOR ME, and such a record!

I am afraid I agree with this, while its great to see them getting the adulation they deserve, many of the weekender acts make me feel quite sad thinking what they may have been. Its no coincidence the best are always the ones that are still performing. Of the last of my heroes still alive and performing that I have not seen are Ashford and Simpson, who I have just found out are here in Birmingham, so that will be another life ambition ticked off!! I wont bore anyone with my seeing Aretha story again as its on here somewhere, but for Sean H I saw the Neville Brothers last year at Poretta and they were fantastic, maybe not as much vocals as I had hoped but just a great funky performance. Of todays acts I think I would like to see Anthony Hamilton/Jahiem as both are old school style vocalists recording modern music at the top of their game, to me the best time to see anybody. For those with a wider interest than just Northern I would tip Kindred as a great live act to see, fantastic vocals and just great together. Cheers Jock

So Simon if I promise not to pick on you again will you sell me the ones I dont have! I agree about the patchy and the different tracks, thats why I was asking about when they were done, they dont seem to be specifically for the Northern scene and its a fairly comprehensive review of the label, so was wondering about the audience. I will put up tracklists for ones I have tonight. I realise that with the odd tracks, thats why I was curious re the source of the 50 track CD, just being nosey honest, no soul police intent.

Well spotted young lady, I was just wondering why nothing had been done on Loma, very interesting track list, although did wonder about legitimacy as they would all be owned by WB? Ah yes the This is Loma LP.s, amazing LP;s when you think about it, were they released mid 70's or later? I think I have about 4, bought out of Woolies for £1 when they were clearing their records out, were there 9 in total? Does anybody know? Does anybody have any for sale to fill my gaps.
