  1. Gavin are there any weekend passes still left, I was going to try and talk Woody into going but need to phone him, dont want to get him into it if no tickets left. Cheers Jock
  2. Oops can someone else confirm before I come back to make sure not doing something daft, I cant check anything I have on PC as my soundcard is knackered at moment. Cheers Jock
  3. Hmm kept getting kicked out there as trying to upload, seem to have had problems last few days with connection getting dropped, anyway off to play tennis (stop laughing at the back!) but have a few more to put up, if noone else beats me to it since Mr Randle has already put one up! Cheers Jock
  4. Church Lady - dennis ferrer - king street cd 14132 refosoul Another great CD packed with good house, some a bit deep and dirty, but I love it, this is probably the most soulful out of 4 or 5 great soul tracks on CD
  5. Mean What U Say - barbara tucker & ron tucker - canyon cd 14131 refosoul Okay since I asked would be rude not to join in, even though I cant listen to all those already put up by others!!Dont have time to do oldies from vinyl unfortunately and if we have to go into the why has this not changed in 15 years debate can we do it after 9.30 :-))))Great CD packed with a number of good tracks, this one winning at moment for me
  6. Is this an extra track on the recent remix of the album Roger, I only bought the first Japanese release.
  7. Ooi could you lot stop talking this up until I get a copy, sure I had it but cant find the bugger, and just missed Mr Jacks recent one, which I thought was correctly priced. So does anyone have one for sale at a decent price? Please Jock PS Not forgotten the Philly PM's just not got round to them, it takes me about a week to remember I have a PM!!
  8. Probably a silly question, given your reputation for hoarding vinyl , is one for sale? Although given above comment if so may be a bit rich for me, but if so PM and we can discuss. Cheers Jock
  9. Okay does anyone a WD for sale for reasonable price??
  10. Good call Baz, great vocals and good uptempo dancer. I have another one as well, It Takes Two To Make One, more funky and mainstream but great vocals, not as good as the other two. Cmon Ms Rachel can see a Philly International monday coming on!
  11. Do you know if Old People came out on WD or is just issue?
  12. Spot on re the Silk Val, great tune, and dont see it too often, does anyone have a demo of this, I have issue but would like WD.
  13. I just checked mines and it says was in "Baltimore the other day" 5 and counting then, any smaller obscure cities anyone know about? Pretty sure that chap who does occasional Philly Shows on Solar (forgot your name apologies as know you are on here ) had discussion with Steve P about this. ANy cheap Philly WD's for sale I am always interested as for some crazy reason I have loosely collected them over years. Cheers Jock
  14. I have a version of this by Little Charles on Drum, think its a bit slower, will dig it out for a listen later.
  15. I Go To Stand Alone - stacey johnson - m-pac 13940 refosoul Another aggro soul production, and did I read somewhere this is really Harold Burrage?? He certainly has the same throat tearing style that makes me go week at the knees!!Good Night.
  16. You Make Me So Happy - harrold burrage - onederful 13939 refosoul Okay last couple, and a couple of Aggro Soul styled tunes, as favoured in Norf London!!What a voice this man has. Proper soul and then some!!
  17. How Lonely - tony daniels - sport 13938 refosoul Another repurchase and another I forgot how good this is, nice and cheap just as us Jocks prefer!!
  18. The Man Who Said No - bettye swann - money 13936 refosoul Great whispy vocals, from one of my favorite singers. Earlish dancer but does it for me!
  19. Keep Me Close To Your Heart - lyrics - j. w. j 13935 refosoul Hmm I was thinking should I join in the recommend a mate for a DJ thread, final proof that there is more DJ's than punters out there, or should I join the 3000 political threads on here today. I assume that www.playgroundpolitic-source.co.uk must be closed for refurbishment of the arguments or something. No I will follow Joan as the wisest one on here and put up some more music, I love my USB turntable!! Start off with this one, recently replaced on my shelves, used to get a few dancers on the Allanton floor!
  20. Just Remember Me - creations - globe 13932 refosoul Somebody else mentioned this and still one of my desert island discs, Mr Rushbrooke again. Used to wait by side of dance floor for this, Great memories from a great venue!
  21. Am I Grooving You - chuck simmons - move 13931 refosoul For Mr Darker, and again how good does this sound now, an 80's night anyone!! Penultimate one from me, and last one from the modern (as was) era!!
  22. Wind Me Up - oscar perry - yellow horizon 13930 refosoul OP No 2, again the slight funky style that was very popular at CH, from a great singer, CH really completed my introduction to the world of soul outside Northern stylee.!
  23. Let Me Do It Till You Are Satisfied - oscar perry - yellow horizon 13929 refosoul Agree with previous comments re Otis Clay and Dells probably being biggest records and biggest memory jerkers for me, they were massive there, but always loved this as it started my introduction to the genuius that Oscar Perry was. Just a magical record,Who was the DJ that used to wear the Oscar Perry T-Shirt??
  24. Cheers Ken. Hope you are well, see you at Lifeline?
  25. If We Cant Be Lovers - bobby raylov - lovinn 13926 refosoul Not sure how often some records got played, sometimes a quick turnover, but sleeve tells me I bought this in 82 so again CH timing!
