  1. Magic versions Joan, haven't heard this before as I normally avoid most of Supremes stuff, will be chasing this soonest!! Cheers Jock
  2. Forever In My Heart - temptations - this is northern soul AS somebody said in many ways in the 80's Pete was Northern Soul, and this record reminds me when I started to become real friends now with him. Through any tears has to be laughter and despite the rep there was always lots of laughter with Pete, honest daft laugter, like the time when Pete shoved a crab down his pants to prove how tough he was and then screamed like a baby.Special person. Off to a good friends wedding now and this will make me chuckle all day now!!
  3. Naughty Boy - jackie day - the stafford story Spiritual home for Pete and his tribe, perfect sole beat for stomping too.
  4. They Didn't Know - terry goodnight - northern soul of la cd
  5. She's Fire - c.o.d's - rare soul heaven cd Full spit ahead for Pete on this one!
  6. Candle - doni burdick - detroit soul cd Shotts AllNighter, Petd in fullm flow in record room leaps over leaving 4 different conversations to dance to this. great Times
  7. I Wont Let Her See Me Cry - big frank & essence - northern soul lost and found cd Pete sometimes hit the floor louder than the volume of the record in the middle bit here!
  8. I'm Losing Again - ray agee - for millionaires only cd Jeez Joan, cant believe its 14 years, still remember you calling me at my office desk all that time ago and just leaving my work in stunned silence, a character in the true sens, not in the currently overused sense. Not always agreeable, but always honest, made many mistakes but always did so within his principals which were ultimate to him.Cant do sound files from vinyl at moment or would have done Jack Montgomery DYBI and Joe Phillips on Omen 2 special records for himHave chosen some CD tracks, all remind me of Pete to some extent, but all remind me of dancing beside him, listening to his shoes slapping the dance floor in perfect time to the beat...... that was the true Pete Lawson. This thread is making me cry, not something I do often,
  9. I only did it to annoy you. Oh and I think you were taking advantage of Jamie with anything but reasonable prices as well so I thought I would shame you in public, does that ring any bells?....... Why shouldn't I run off some crossover/70's cds, Are you telling me in your world you dont get CD's off people to help you decide what to buy???? WTF are you on? I assume you pay the appropriate artists rights on all the records you sell? Your continuing fight to preserve all that is right in this soul world is touching, your hypocrisy is not. No more banter please, thanks, my inner zen is getting damaged so now intend to shut my eyes whenever I see your name on a post!
  10. Jamie you will get them much cheaper than this if you search online, dont know if you live near a fOPP but again they will be cheaper than this. I will PM you tomorrow, happy to run some off for you, still to do Mr Buckley a couple of new CD's so will get to them also. Cheers Jock
  11. How much does this go for now, always been on my mental wants list but never got round to it because it was cheap and thought always get another time..... does this still apply?
  12. If you are so am I, I will pay 5cents more than Val as he is tight PS thats an injoke between Val and I from Lifeline weekender so am not really gazumping (unless by PM )
  13. Yes my stand up was always better when I was djing, cant believe you were there Simon or would have said hello. We will have to have a beer before in May. Reminds me I never answered your PM on EMS (Robin S will be guffawing at that as I always forget to answer his), yes I did know the Time Is Right guys, originally through Robin, then got to know Dave B quite well when I spent a couple of years going to MOS most weeks (MOS being credible, seems like a lifetime ago!!) Cheers Jock
  14. You did very well, I bought my first copy about 84 for £15, who said the Tories caused inflation. Old Ion spin from back then I think, gave it away mid 90's coz when I was bored of NS dos, a rather expensive whim!!
  15. Used to spin it Allanton, paid £2 off Jim O'hara in 1982, he knew a bargain that lad did! Great record, better than Tricky Dickies spin anyday. Discuss?
  16. A man of supreme taste as ever is Stuart, and of course since I forgot my capitals my joke fell even flatter than it would have. Should have been Jock as in the chosen people against jock as in one of the 3million djs out there.!! Whats that saying about if you have to explain a joke........................
  17. No Jock is playing it, its Jock that is buying it because no other Jock has such good taste!! Watch this space as it will be a monster in my record room within the nextt 12 months!!

Most sensible comment so far Adrian. Thread seems to be one blithering idiot against one agressive egotistical self opinionated twat, go away and do some naked mud wrestling and get the very obvious sexual tension between you both out of the way!!! PS yes I know I am not suppose to call other members Mike/Rachel but sometimes its too difficult not too, I am really sorry honest and will not post for a few days after this in penance
  19. On relative recent times (i.e mid 80's) Bernard Smith on Spectrum and Masterpiece _ Love Affair, both tips by the Whitmores! Should listen to their tips a bit earlier these days shouldnt I !! If you raise it to £20 then could really break my heart!!
  20. Cheers Steve, thanks for info. Do you have contact email for Joey, my details are all at home, Re Superlatives, crazy thing is I know I bought this for about a fiver back in 80's as bought most of their records but guess what this is one I cant find!!! Keep thinking its on shelves somewhere. Need to have a mad weekend and go on a Sunday record hunt in the record room, not done that for a few years
  21. Cheers Chris, daft thing is my room mate at Lifeline sold one for that, I just forgot to ask him how much!!! Ill keep looking for one at the right price, need to keep up my Jocks reputation for tight sporrans!! Cheers Jock
  22. Tubbs The UK re-issue is on Charly (or related label) so easy to see but think like many of these sort of albums there is an exact copy reissue from US, not sure about the bar code but lots of the re-issues from 90's dont seem to have them, hop over the the EMS forum you may get a definite answer there. Bit of a minefield the LP reissues, a book required Mr Manship Cheers Jock PS Great album though!
  23. Okay in order to get back my position as No 1 in the ThatFunkyKid fan club need a couple of records. Clovers Try My Loving On You (Josie) Superlatives - Dont Let True Love Die (Dynamics or Westbound, Im not the fussy sort) Reasonable prices please (remember I am tight Scotsman stuck in the 80's so my idea of reasonable may be different so please dont take offence if i cough and splutter at prices ). Also interested in Internationals Beautiful Philosophy (D'ar) and a James Wayne and ??? on Orange Label but have a feeling they have now gone out of my price bracket, why oh why did I not pick them up when had the chance of Old Steptoe for a £5 a piece!! Oh and anyone know what the other Internationals record on same label is like, or their records on Spring?? Veil Dank! Jock O'Connor
  24. A monster record late 70's at Clouds up here in the Scottish Lowland for a Mr J Rogers, one of the many tunes being broken here at the time!! Sure there is a story about a couple of copies being found in Hippy shop near University, any truth Jolly or Urban Myth being told to us young kids at the time!! Hate the record now, but it sounded the business at Clouds, happy days!!
  25. Not at that price I am afraid mate, I am on the case though!!
