  1. Okay been sorting through shelves and found over last few weeks (embarrassingly) some doubles, nothing too scarce but some great lesser played stuff that lots of people on here profess to like (oh sh*t, forgot this thread is the nice sales technique only) Hope you find something nice, guaranteed politeness on here, honest. Fidels - I Want To Thank You/Boys Will Be Boys (Maverick) £30 Fantastic double sider, think its on here already, Val Challoner tip, what more do you need to know, could go big (somewhere, maybe!) Immaculate condition. Willy Wiley - Just Be Glad (King) £25 fantastic crossover, have spun this out on number of occasions this year to great reception, a Nicola Anderson tip, what more do you need to know!! One very small mark on vinyl plays perfectly. Little Carlton - Why Don't They Leave Us Alone (Backbeat) £15 One of his many absolutely fantastic records on this label, great dancer. Some marks on vinyl but plays perfectly. Grover Mitchell What Hurts (Vanguard) I have a UK which is in very clean condition, would let go for £65, or have a US demo which looks pretty beat but plays perfectly, with no background noise, would let that go for £30. Only letting one go so first one to go means other one stays, Can supply sound clips of actual records and scans if required P&P extra, will charge at cost. Would prefer bank transfer but will take paypal if you split costs. A few more to add tomorrow, and will add soundclips on here then too. Thanks for looking
  2. Hmmm, I would like to say its a rare occasion but have a funny feeling it would only take a few minutes for you to prove otherwise, I think both sides maybe in refosoul already, will have a look. I think you need a little more tact and humbleness for this selling game methinks!!
  3. No I just don't suffer fools gladly (Nev is excepted from this, he is normally one of the good guys, hence my surprise, but will admit to a possible slight overreaction to him on my part) and can't be assed with know nothing smart asses of which there seems to be lots when it comes to records, however as for honesty and integrity re returns thats unquestionable, and a little naughty of you to even insinuate this, I think there are loads of people on here who would stick up for me on that, just ask a number of your mates who have been around long enough to know me***........I have deliberately not used the half baked grading system on here as it is so unreliable, it goes without question on something like this it could be returned no questions asked as long as exactly same as it left here. ***And now I am just being cheeky to bump my thread, I always wanted to get away with things like Mr Domar and it never harmed his sales, but just in case, I think I may lock this. No offers yet so maybe a bargain to be had, PM's from now on in
  4. Well funny enough I did pay £20 for it, just after I bought the Lovers on Frantic for same and Magnetics on Rasel for £30, funny enough don't often see them for same prices now do you, right time and all that. Oh and who told you about when prices were that level, as I assume you weren't around then, As the lovely Mr Domar used to say, if you have nothing meaningful to say f**k off, toodle off and do something worthwile like polish up your Billy Butler, with small 45 no doubt, or your lovely sprung wooden floor and keep talking about the good old days, however leave those who have moved on to get on with it, theres a nice chap,
  5. Thanks for bumping that Neville, as I am sure that could be the only point of your post. I won't point out it comes across a tad hypocritical of you since are you not one of the most vocal against people talking about prices in sellers threads. Suppose even the alleged nice guys like you have to be a bit of a prick sometimes. And Val you won't like it, its a bit too straight ahead Northern for you.
  6. Okay up for offers on Butch's latest revival, monster sound in 80's and quite rightly getting a revival now, and yes it was cheap but then so was everything in the 80's, not many copies come up so best offer by COB Thursday will get this. Very clean condition, scans etc can be supplied Flairs _ You've Got To Steal It (RAP)
  7. With an equally brilliant (almost) in a more uptempe stylee b side that is slightly ruined by the Rolling Stones guitar intro. I was thinking of selling my demo and would have wanted more that that!
  8. I have one that I would probably consider selling. I can't send PM's during day, so if you PM me your email I will send you price etc. Won't be able to check condition till tonight but pretty sure its totally clean.
  9. What a f***ng outstanding finish to a great show, Al Green How Can You Mend A Broken Heart, Soul Man no 1 Mr Dyson, you are a genius. Great show guys, great LP tracks from Kitch, and fantastic 45#s from Andy, Combinations being pick of the batch, I would definitely dance to that. More details on the Darrel Banks as had to run to bog when you were talking.
  10. Jeez, Smash and Nicey, about to be joined by King Chaos, perfect radio! Wheres the LP tracks you promised Mr Anderson!
  11. Aww I liked your reaction to my last hand grenade better, I was meaning you and Mr Wright with my metaphorical question but was just being naughty, I havent actually listened to it yet, but sure I will buy it like the rest of them so far. Not sure I would play it out however........... Only kidding again, honest, I am just relieving my PM boredom
  12. Okay so which one is the Emporer and which one is the Tailor then?
  13. I so wanted to buy this one but just managed to avoid the temptation, but it was so hard, I no longer have mines, which was a floor filler (relatively speaking) for both sides at Shotts so obviously you can dance to it, you just need to dance to the song as a whole rather than just the drumbeat, although if you slow down too much, you sometimes almost fall over, but hey what a great record to fall over to. Another to mention in the ultimate beat ballad thread, although it doesn't have that much of a beat admittedly, but another desert island disc with SIMW just winning it .
  14. Am I the only MFer who hasn't heared most of the records on this label, I am assuming I am missing something, cmon then get sound clips up, if not already there, I can't investigate until I get home tonight, I refuse to believe Barbara Hall has one bad record and need to go and lie down in a darkend room with a gin fountain to get over shock. I take it all remain rare? Bas**d I hate it when good records are also rare, except when I have them, then I positively delight in it, with glee!
  15. Aww stop moaning, that is my job on here, and I may have to go on strike if you keep up your unauthorised taking of my responsibilities (© Arthur Scargill 1984). I thought she was fu***g fantastic, best vocals since Womack live, and even better than Aretha, even the schmaltzy Bond song she sang her metaphorical bollocks off, although I did choose that moment to go to the bar admittedly. (some of us having to go to a bar and buy our drinks as we werent invited to any corporate hospitality box, not that I am bitter!!) I just loved it from the intro on, the backing singers for the opening numbers and the fact she stuck to a completely authentic doo wop style (although she did claim her first record as 61 which I thought was a little fib no?)just had me purring like a prize Siamese. The medley was actually one of my favourite bits, especially the Spinners and Teddy P bit, showed this woman was a soul singer at top of her game, magnificent. Top top singer, makes you remember what it was all about, or at least should be. The Tito singers could certainly sing, and really did the material justice, did think some of his comments were a bit surreal and even more so introducing his mother and Jackie Jackson just sitting in the normal seats but a million miles away from each other, anyone catch the name of the singers?
  16. Cmon Mr Zilla, given your Christian name*** and your extra sensory bumps on your tail I assume you would have known I was being equally parodical, responding in my best Victor Meldrew impersonation that my on line fans demand I didn’t say you couldn't, I just don’t and there is almost an expectation that they go hand in hand these days, I know nothing about pop, crafted or not, and that’s not a soul snob type statement it really is true. I definitely don't deny their place, I do however sometimes get cheesed off when their place seems to be the norm rather than the exception however, which I do think is becoming the norm again, sadly. And now you are pulling the fur over your eyes, do you want to count the soul snob type insults thrown regularly, although not so much lately for some reason, anyone who dares to point out something has nothing to do with soul is led off to the stocks and cells by that Iraqui "soldier" off Lost and never seen again, I totally disagree with that one. And its not about colour its about sound young man, again I thought you would get that while lots don't on here, sadly. I definitely think the tone on here has changed where anyone suggesting Northern and Soul should actually mean that get ridiculed and booed loudly. I do not mind people having an alternative opinion, as long as they eventually realise mines is the correct one. Don't we all sometimes, sadly. And I hope you loudly shout and whats the problem with that as you send her back to the cave kitchen to cook your T-Rex steak while you polish your latest 7" acquisition with your paws up drinking your mint tea she has just made for you. I was taking it to the wide end of the spectrum for comedic effect, although I think in our media led world, the lack of any smileys obviously means it can't have any humour. And I would have thought Muriel Day was a good example of crafted pop, albeit it very poorly crafted. Oh yes Mr First Class BA,** already wasting your education by going out fighting, so typical of the younger generation today. You can now prove the worth of education by telling us you didn't know what Psuedo meant before your degree, I still think it means the fashion craze after skinheads but I believe it doesn't. ** A very serious congratulations on that, that is really a fantastic achievment for people of our age, I have thought about it but havent even got past the thinking stage due to the amount of work everyone tells you it takes, and in case you are not aware, I remember being told that mature students pass more frequently than younger students but very rarely finish at top end of qualifiers with few firsts so really double well done young man, will need to think of some smarter insults to throw at you now. *** Now you are educated can you tell me if the term God existed pre-Christianity or was it something else they made up, maybe for another thread though…….
  17. Ahh now we are getting the hang of it, at least these are both soul records.!!! Good question though. Sultry Patti vs Atmospheric Kenya need to listen to them both tonight, assuming they are in Refosoul as I do not think I own either!
  18. No its soul, more important than life or death or even Hibernian © Bob Shankly
  19. Yes those pesky soul fans only liking soul records and even worse only wanting to talk soul records, what is the world coming to, they are so selfish. Godz if it wasn't you I would ignore the statement but you know better!! How about Muriel Day or Mary Love for the next conversation!! Havent these been done to death on some psuedo intellectual Phil Spector or Beach Boys site, sure there are lots out there more suited for this. IMO, and I do feel the need to give it given what seems to be the current backlash against any sort of soul fans on this soul site, SM is a pile of crock in any sort of soul sense, it it was 1974 I would maybe go for the better beat only, but it isn't so lets move on. And yes I am having a crap morning having forgot to smuggle my gin in my Highland Spring bottle.
  20. Try Fish at https://www.firstexperiencerecords.com/ he may have some stock left, if not try Juno or CrazY Beat, sure you will pick it up for new release price rather than Northern Soul price!
  21. I think you are not being cynical, in fact being a little too nice, personally I think its just a further push of the local scenes into the replacement for British Legions around the country, far too many are cynically promoted, far too many of them are on, and at least a few as evidenced on here, morally, if not actually financially, are using the charity as a method of just getting a night on, that they coincidentally are DJing at. And before I get brickbats, not against doing stuff for charity, in fact very for it, in the right circumstancese just think people are being morally manipulated by promoters, and obviously not all people fit this scenario, but I would suggest a lot do..... Just a further dumbing down of the "scene(s)" IMO!
  22. I suspect, if they are getting invoices, you are now part of a Russian Mafia money laundering chain, probably not a lot of money for you personally but add that over a large portion of Ebay categories and itesms,it soon amounts up, especially when they "resell" them on, in their books only, for 100% or so mark up!! Just don't go near Gorky Park!!
  23. Ooops, at work so can't listen. My unreserved apologies Phil, just lots of people have been putting up MP3's lately despite sites clear guidance, so you got the brunt of it. Hope thats not me barred from Burnley before I ever attend! Stick to my comments about buying it though, get doing it now!
  24. FFS Phil, MP3's of newly released tracks, not the brightest thing to do in any circumstances but given the sites very correct stance (and remember legally required too) its a pretty selfish dumb thing to do. Why dont you write to the artist and ask them to send their food over to you too. Take them down now, from a concerned Kent fan rather than anything to do with the site. No wonder Ady ignores your PM's. Sorry but some people on here really take the p**s and it does my head in. Just buy the f*****g CD the lot of you and put some money in the artists pockets, bunch of tight wads. I bought it on Amazon within 3 seconds of it appearing here, its not difficult.
  25. Ohh FFS the worst record in the planet on on one of the worst bootlegs for a long time, there really is no justice. I shouldn't have let Claire and Jenny stop me from assinating him on the Saturday on Prestatyn, but I was too busy laughing at his Bee Gee on Crack impersonation.
