  1. I thought this was a new recording based on the reference to sampling? To be fair on their sales site it comes over as being advertised as a new recording, to me anyway. I had a listen to clip and it sounded well done, but new. Sure the guys are on here to confirm or otherwise.
  2. I thought it was an option you chose to allow download? As I say Phil, not making any comment on site views etc, just aware Mike doesn;t see everything so maybe worth just checking in with him, it may be okay with third party being host etc. On a very selfish view certainly don't want to discourage you and others from doing stuff like this, it is much appreciated, My impression from Mike's posts on refosoul is this is all under consideration at moment, but certainly don't want to sound like I am speaking on his, or sites, behalf.
  3. Not had chance to listen but will do so later, appreciate time people take to do these as great way of hearing stuff these days, the y2k equivalent of tape swapping, must have a bash myself. One thing worth mentioning Phil it is maybe worth checking with Mike if he is comfortable with having the download option available on site. I think we had some discussion previously, but given all the stuff that is going on around file sharing at moment you probably need to clear it. I think at moment it is a hot topic in industry so my view, personal I should say, is better safe than sorry
  4. A giant of a voice, heard this on radio. Off to play the Who's Blue, fantastic Kent CD from last year. Bye Etta rip
  5. So him and this Neckender fella have it, bloody hell what a coincidence................. :D Hope you and Jet are well T, been too long guvner!
  6. Not sure people will get the Baby Huey connection to be honest, as thats not particularly a "scene" record Bob. As fine as it is. I only heard the GC recently to be honest at that fine Majestic Soul night and couldn't believe it, I only knew the BH one. Do you know which was first? I assume GC as BH was 1971. How common is the Baby Huey LP in States?
  7. Sorry Davina, didn't mean to sound critical of that approach, I agree 100%, unless proved it does not exist, and even then I would still record it as unissued, just in case. My point was even though I stopped collecting Loma 2 records short, this being one of them, 2 years ago, and I have formally stopped buying 45's I still dream about this record. Its fatal. So until someone, probably Bob Krasnow level, tells me it definitely doesn't exist, I will keep thinking of it. Mind as above would even that work.....
  8. Some of his Atco 45's are superb, the later ones being very soulful, sadly not on LP. Forgive This Fool being one of his greatest records His 2 mid 70's LP's are fantastic, some fantastic deep soul on them, a couple of Sam Dees songs and the superior version of Lou Courtney's I Don't Need Nobody Else. I have most of them recorded at home if you need to hear any for your research. I also have a Greek atlantic release of I Can't Break The News if thats any good for your unusual 45's?
  9. Is this same outfit who did Love Is Our Destiny? Now there is a sound all those chasers of funky things could do with revisiting, never liked it at the time but grew to like it, and I suspect still rare?
  10. Well Mr D, this should be in my posties bum bag for today, and it will join the 6 recent Backbeat CD's ( i was too tight to buy the 10, on grounds of having them, can take the Scotch out of the man and all that) on the first free weekend listening list. Great stuff, having thought of myself as a relatively big Philly collector back in day, now realise I didn't even scratch the surface. Now just behind Numero (and only just as the quality keeps creeping up) as No 2 favourite re-issue company but that no 2 spot could be yours if the re-issued stuff hits us, Tom Moulton for Disco King of the year award?
  11. Seconded. Now streets ahead in the post of 2012 race, possibly unbeatable.
  12. Agreed I was just singing its praises elsewhere, I always had a look for specific things on this but only recently just looked randomly and it is awesome, very very valuable historical document, and so comprehensive. You wouldn't think it of a man who I believe likes men who play with odd shaped balls. One challenge however, is you can't say it is complete until you answer the Bob and Earl Loma question, 27 years of chasing it, so I can't die without knowing for definite if it exists or not......
  13. Superb Mr G, sounds great. Now all you need to do is some reprints of old and new Blackbeat and you will be a legend every lunchtime, seriously you know you want to. Fantastic stuff.
  14. I am almost 100% certain it is not on any of her LP's, thought I had full set and pretty sure I woudn't have missed this, although stranger things and all that. I would take some convincing this has not been talked about before if it really is her, probably need to get Hadriana Crossdresser, the 100 club and Kent Guru or his compadre Mr Rounce to comment on this since they have rights to her stuff I think.
  15. I don't think it is on any of her albums, the Sutra gospel one I do not have but I suspect this would be much earlier than that. Suspect it is soundtrack only, and from what Mr S says, an unissued soundtrack
  16. I haven't heard this but am interested, its not off the deluxe CD re-issue of the album is it, link below? I don't have that but have its equivalent of WGO and there is some great alternative stuff on that. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Lets-Get-Deluxe-Marvin-Gaye/dp/B00005O02R
  17. Looking forward to this Lars, a man with immense taste and one of the few people that could follow Mr Steele well. And trust me, your English is better than 95% of English people I have met!! Have a good one.
  18. I have googled it, carefully mind, and nothing jumped out. Sounds kind of LP track tucked away on a late 70's rock/funk LP, Will search tonight but not hopeful!
  19. Definitely no Xavier out there ??
  20. There are trillions surely, but the best of the lot (or one of the best to CMA) is Carol Anderson - I'll Get Off At The Next Stop, beautified brilliance, basicly simply the best!Q Although the Linda Jones Hypnotised must be hitting the top twenty What a good excuse to play the other sides tonight.....
  21. I think ever was a big clue.
  22. www.thiabridesareus.com Keeping on topic, great move Ady from a publicity stunt but he won't even be as good as Butch's last fart before he leaves the stage. Would be nice to have current day ledgends discussed, although since half the people on here don't rate the best DJ the Northern scene has had (how many have actually heard!) I won't hold my breath, much to many peoples annoyance I suspect!
  23. Because it is as dull as diswasher, mindless moronic and soulless. Other than that it is okay.
  24. Okay updated but can't believe how tough it is to get what should be relatively easy LP's, thought LP's were now easy to get......... One to add the Intrigues In A Moment LP, sensible price and all that. Cheers Jock
  25. Thanks but its the one before that I am after, Cheers though.
