I just did a search but can't find any for some of the Scandinavian guys/girls, Helena etc. They used to put mixes on their web sites, and they were awesome, Not Northern but they know their onions in that world also. The just play soulful dance music (without the capital N) from 60's 70's and 80's,, I especially like they favour the 80's equally, you would love it Barry. Look on here for the Bamberg playlists, not sure if many did them to be honest and cannot find them at the moment. Again across the spectrum, and Butch and Dave T in particular just blow it away with very different selections from here, across the decades, really show just how miles ahead in the UK game they both are in playing across the spectrum. Completely matched though by "locals" (i.e. Non Brits) like Malayka, Lars, Marc Forrest and Brad Hales, who I always thought was just 60's but he blew the "modern" room away. Just so much music I don't know there. And in both of occasions above all fanatical collectors looking for the next possible dance sensation! I think each event seems to vary in its amount of straight ahead Northern but if nothing else the ones I go to are full of young attractive people.... remember that??

Pretty sure Searling played it at every Oldies Friday night I went to in 1980, although not sure what that tells you, and I stopped paying attention after the first couple of Oldies nights so maybe it just seemed he played it every time. Pretty sure it was on a Jayboy demo with red A that he said was very rare. Alternatively I was 17 having the time of my life and maybe imagined all of the above.

Did it come out on any of the early LP's Adriana? I would say they are the biggest attraction, ever. So many young Europeans as well as not so young UK moddies say that dragged them over into the real deal world.

Pete had knocked that around for a few years, think he had it covered up at one point. He made me take it home 3 different times saying it was a goer and would be perfect for djing with. I am the same when I go shopping, right misery, always making sure the clothes are the right fit right colour and right length before I buy them rather than just picking up the first thing in shop and saying ah its just a shirt..... And I am saying we should take it in the same context as any other fictional film regardless of its NS connection, which Byrney explains much more technically than I can, and when you do its a piss poor film and an embarrasment to writers the world over. The people going to see it having the somewhat tenuous connection not the plot diddy. That connection in the film was the only consistent thing in the film, till the end. PS see my two friendly fingers above. Now can you just accept I think, actually not I think it is, a crap film regardless of its NS friendly fire....

I have been looking for that thread for months to prove I was all in favour of this at early stages, and hey presto on page 5 there it so. So two friendly fingers to all who accused me of just being biased! I don't suppose you could find my riposte to Dave Moore about his Just a Film comment, so I could just replay that to Mr H rather than type it out. If you do find that can you edit out Rod the Mod shameless bootleg of my humour. Sure the new officious Rod would be just embarrassed at his plagiarism!

That is the whole point, why wouldn't you be! Why should this be judged any differently because it has nice music in it? The fact this broke even probably purely due to lots of people going to see it due to a connection, often a very tenuous connection to the Northern scene meant better and more deserving films, in my opinion obviously, didn't get made, or don't get to distributors. As someone that watches lots of films, and judges each one on how good it is, as a film. That pisses me off. The poor quality control in the Northern soul world should amaze but then...... The fact there are loads of people almost excusing its lack of any artistic merit, just makes me go apoplectic, in a calm collected manner as is my new way!
