  1. I sold one for £75 last year, maybe year before, and had loads of queries, so suspect that was a bit cheap for then. Its probably even more in demand now? Although I am basing this on here only, not sure of interest in wider world these days.
  2. Did I not email you last night? Couldn't find the damned record so suspect its in one of the unsorted boxes, its an orange label isnt it? Also my buzzing speakers sound like an exhaust falling off rather than previous cat like purring so not sure if it will come off good. Remind me, via email, tonight and I will have a dig around.
  3. Seems to be an indemander, try Marco Santucci (on here as Marco) as he outbid me when he still had it covered up, bu**er told me what it was but didn't tell me he was going to buy another so we ended up bidding against each other, Thankfully due to my tightness I only pushed him up to about £40, although I suspect its a little bit higher now with lots of people playing it. I guess you will already know, but just in case, its on an LP also, which is what I have been looking out for, although not greatly, and that even doesn't seem to turn up.
  4. Cmon Hadrian, forget volume 2 and get licking those envelopes and address labels for vol 1. My Postie has already been threatened with a kicking (from the other half as I am a pacifist/coward) if it doesn't arrive by Friday. And thats only because I ask her 3 times nightly is it here yet and she is fed up of giving me a kicking over it.
  5. Thanks for that young man, I think you are right about condition, I got a fairly vague answer. Hope you and yours are good, still trying to emulate Jamie O in the kitchen :-)) Cmon boys, only had a result on Manhattans Deluxe, just remember LP values are plummeting so now is time to sell......
  6. I gave FB on Sassy away in 80's with a load of boots as always assumed it was boot as I had bought it for £1.25 off one of the lists like Colin Bee. Doh, where was the Internet when I needed it! And no one has rushed to offer me Tempests based on my sales pitch so looks like I may be doing without for another 30 years! :-))
  7. Okay, try again. Wants for below, as always looking for keen prices, I am Scottish with Yorkshire tendencies but won't laugh, at least not out loud, at any offer. I may say no however. Terry Callier - Occasional Rain (Cadet) Terry Callier - What Colour Is Love (Cadet) Manhattans - Dedicated To You (Carnival) Manhattans - Sing For You And Yours (Carnival) Manhattans - WIth These Hands (Deluxe) Skullsnaps - Skullsnaps (GSF) Would take any of the non US ones of this. Originals only, none of the nasty represses, they will be going under the microscopes of experts after to prove authenticity. I look forward to the multitudes of offers......
  8. 30 years ago you were tripping over these for a tenner, unfortunately I kept tripping over and bought something else each time. I would be interested but nowhere near the prices being quoted so suspect I will need to wait a bit longer, however if you want a bit sport send me a price and maybe I can be swayed. I am a very good friend of your namesake, just in case thats worth an extra fiver discount! :-))
  9. I played the Tams, There Ain't Nothing Like Shagging at a nighter once, at the first chorus there were a few bemused looks and by the end the last few on the floor were just standing looking at me as if I was bonkers.....
  10. WTF is this one all about, a quick summary to make sure I understand is Martin is either trying to be smart, a stirrer or just bonkers, and least likely suspect to make what appears to be incredibly stupid, history rewriting starting point and after that it becomes incomprehensible waffle (yes I know, pots, kettles) and in between the waffle Boba could be seen to be historically proven correctly, even if I disagree, and Sutty could be proved to be aurally correct, and I agree. Is that close enough?
  11. I have a male version of this on same label that s also very nice, will dig it out in 10 minutes.. Always thought it was relatively unknown after the few obligatory 80's plays.

    Irony

Do you want to show one incidence of anyone being castigated for buying CD 's? I haven't seen it and most people I know buy them. So what do you base that statement on and by linking it to playing on the scene just makes it another variation of the dreaded format question no matter how you try to disguise it. Making up facts to suit yourself doesn't a debate make. I can only hope once holidays are over the current obsession of muppet led OVO/format/same old boring shit ad nausea will have gone
  13. Where did I say anything about your knowledge of SS. I was critiquing your superior and disrespectful tone you always use on here. Thanks for proving my point.
  14. The one Bit that is interesting is you say he had a massive talent, can you expand on that, he obviously had an ear and a brain for spotting good Northern, did you mean wider than that? Not that that isn't impressive, just keen to understand if there was more.
  15. I think most people agree with you Ian and like most people I love hearing your stories of theses days. I suspect it's Kevs usual disrespectful dismissal of anyone that wasn't around for and anything subsequent of his few years on the scene back then. It is tiresome and irksome, and although I occasionally give you a hard time on this your transparency and honest in these discussions is great to read. And you do have a very inclusive way of storytelling. When's the book, maybe you need a ghostwriter! Would be good to get an intro from Mr Uptite, only posted on 3 threads and 2 of them about SS, I can her Mr Cato and his fellow conspricacists cogs whirling overtime as I type. And to be fair to Diddy a lot of people on here talk about Northern as if it happened between 74 and 77, which i suspect it did for lots, but I agree that is for another thread.
  16. I woke up sweating and thinking about it every night till I sold it for a 2800% profit, And just to think I would probably have shared some of my profit with Jim if he hadn't been so tight.......** **If you are out there reading this Jim, don't set the bulldog on me, just joking, honest!
  17. I know everyone is fed up of the how cheap things were posts but can't resist. I got Ray Pollard of Jim Wensoria for £30 when he sold up. It had a fag burn at start and had a very slight hiss so I offered him £20, his look and Colin Laws kick under the table told me to get my cash out fast and pay asking price. The best set it bargains I got and they were in Mansfield not USA SWONS!
  18. Oii you two cockney warblers, shut up, The LP is still only worth £50 at most which is why my offer is more than generous......... (A pint on me at 100 club Xmas party if you are both around and back up my story, shhh)
  19. https://www.discogs.com/artist/O.T.+Sykes The power of google, looks like CD may be old stuff, does anyone know if it is rerecordings, sure its in an old ITB, will try and dig out over my 3 weeks Xmas holidays!
  20. Was it not issued twice with different B-Sides, sure I have 2 by him, and the other is okay but not brilliant. I would like like the LP and would happily swap for the 45's with a tenner thrown in, any takers? He did a cd about 10 years ago sure I read somewhere, anyone heard that?
  21. I concur with Clifton Hall, imagine funky things being big at Northern Soul all nighters, surely thats a modern day thing............ I remember your article and picture of the singing dentist, don't think I have mentioned in a while its time you reissued the Blackbeat's as glossy digitals, so just in case you forget, its time! I am reading through them again, or at least ones I can find. Sure your PA could knock up some nice copys in her lunchtime......
  22. Bloody hell David, if I knew you still had records like these I would have snuggled up a bit closer at Dumfries........
  23. It was a hopeful question rather than accusatory!! (this time!)
  24. You don't have a Players LP spare do you Steven.......
  25. I think it is promo only, been played on Mark Merry's radio show recently and sure it has been mentioned as 2012, also looking like it based on above. Mark is on EMS ask him over there, he is pretty good at getting back.
