  1. Sheppards - How Do You Like It / Stubborn Heart - Mirwood
  2. I have the same opinion about Edwin Starr's - Back Street and that would be the one for me
  3. Correct Marc. Just found this scan I had from a few years back......of the boot Archer.....
  4. Spooky!!! I was reading about this only yesterday in this thread... /Ashford...e-B-t61118.html from the back end of December 07.
  5. Edit: Forget that. My eyes are going
  6. I've got a jar of Uncle Joes Mint Balls I could let you have Sorry Great record. There's one on the Bay here..... https://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...6626&_rdc=1
  7. That's one possibility. There's also a greater awareness of it now. Both within the general public and a wider following across the globe. I think you're right in the sense that us 'oldies' have got more money than we had then and are perhaps doing more with it on the scene. For example, there are a lot more promoters promoting venues than there used to be. I'm sure there's more that can be added to the equation but that's a few. I'm certainly glad that it's still going great guns
  8. There's a few good 'uns but the one that always get's me is The Precisions-If this Is Love (I'd Rather Be Lonely). Excellent intro.
  9. You'll have to check whether these threads have any matrix numbers and of course, whether they are etched, scratched or stamped Sorry
  10. Overplayed, re-issued threads!! Now there's a topic
  11. Now I know it's impossible to achieve that in some cases (God bless them and may they RIP) but if you pay's you're money you wouldn't expect to turn up and watch the local vicar all dolled up to suit doing his impersonation of said artist would ya?
  12. Never thought of that Be interesting to know whether the motors burn out quicker down there as a result of the opposing gravitational pull though !!
  13. Hi. Any help appreciated here. Any idea of a recent value for The Sensations (feat Yvonne Baker) - Baby - Junior 1006? There's a couple on Popsike but from quite a while ago. I don't have JM's recent edition. Only got 2nd edition and there's no mention of it in there. Many thanks in advance.
  14. According to this little FAQ... https://www.tomh.demon.co.uk/jukebox/faq.htm#8 .... American record playing equipment used to select the correct speed to play the record at based on the hole size. (It's under the FAQ question 'So what's this dinking business then?')
  15. Not so much Urban Myth as such, more like disillusioned sarchasm I reckon. But the rumour went round at the time that Diane Foster of 'I'm Gonna Share It With You' fame on Casino Classics, was actually Russ's (Winstanley) wife.
  16. Nice post. And so right. I like dancing myself and thoroughly enjoy every minute that I do. But as much a part of any night for me is watching others also. No matter how someone dances, most have something in their routine that catches the eye. Something different from everyone else.
  17. Is Edwin Starr - Back Street not still in the running? Just been back through the thread and not seen it discounted yet? *Edit - Sorry, forget that. Just spotted the last part of mark.b's post at the top of this page relating to having no motown related in his collection. *2nd Edit - Would that not apply to JJ Barnes - Please Let Me in aswell being a Ric-Tic record?
  18. Maybe it would be a good idea to say what qualifies as a limit to the minimum size of a record collection. The smaller the collection, the unliklier it is to contain a record, no matter how popular. I've been surprised by the fact that certain 45's are not in peoples collections and also that certain records I don't have in mine appear to be popular amongst others. Good game, though
  19. Add Edwin Starr - Back Street, anybody not got that?
  20. The unfortunate thing for records like 'The Snake' is that they become synonomous with the general public as being the epitomy of Northern Soul. It's happened to DILY-Frank Wilson aswell. Of course, both of those records where big on the scene at times but as we all know they do not represent the Northern Soul scene to those of us who have sweated our pants off at many an allnighter/dayer. It's all about that moment when you're sat there at a Christening/Wedding/Auntie's 100th Birthday Bash, etc, etc, when the damned DJ puts it on the decks. Auntie taps you on the shoulder and says, "Hey up love, are you not showing us your dancing? It's that Northern Soul you like."
  21. ACME Plastic Surgeons.... Look At Me Now (Terry Callier) Any Party Political Broadcast...... What Difference Does It Make (Kenny Sheppard) ACME Pacemakers Inc....... You Don't Need A Heart (Teddy Randazzo)
  22. A bit later than first anticipated, but better late than never. The issue copy I got is more or less the same as the Demo in the top post. Obviously there is no reference to Promo on there and there are ni 'Intro' or 'Fade' times. Otherwise it is exactly the same. Might be the scan/picture but this issue looks a more light cream colour. The 'Bell Sound' stamp is in the same place relative to the 'Just Sunshine' logo and the matrix number is etched 'PMB-27815-AS-1-1-1'. Directly opposite at 6 oclock to the etched matrix is an etched 'PR'. There is also what looks like 'SR' lightly etched on both sides about an inch from the 'Bell Sound' stamp. I'll have to get this scanner sorted out so I can contribute a few piccy's.
  23. Ann Summers Sex Toys range..... Anything by the Vibrations NHS Public Service Ad for Incontinence Awareness..... Soul Brothers Six - You Better Check Yourself
  24. Ah ah, I have missed something then. Better when it comes from the horses mouth Thanks for that.
  25. Have I missed something? Wasn't the auction meant to start on the 14/03/09? It's the 18/03/09 today and I can't find it anywhere. Unless it's been grabbed on a Buy-It-Now Where's the auction? Is it private? I want to get my big bid on
