Hi jack, superfl in Manchester have some great deals on at the minute, I went to by an amp on Monday which they didn't have in stock but gave me a Denon PMA-520AE for £119 which was reduced from £179 to £129, I just asked could they do a better price, works great with my warfdale speakers and audio technica AT120 turntable.... Philhi, I've just bought a Stanton t62 and a pair of wharfdale speakers, just need to know which amp or tuner amp will be compatable or if anybody has any thing they are selling that will do, getting sick of my old portable, thanks Jack.

Really good article too. Much better reading it in an original newspaper as well. Don't mind the online take but prefer to get my hands on the hard copy. Can't see anyone in Hull stumping up for Frank Wilson and pretty sure John would not disclose any details of any winning bidder.
Can't remember when exactly but I do recall JM saying that a guy from Hull bought it for his girlfriend, I think it may have been part of the blurb on his site when selling another record ???

I paid 275 for one last year , I would have paid more, so I was quite pleased, I have seen them cheaper and dearer, an all time want that coincided with it for sale and me having the dosh.. Great great tune that really goes well with lew kirton... Phil£150 - £250 for a decent copy now I guess?
Over £350 10 years ago for a nice
One of them that's not quite held its price as more have turned up.
never, never, never, never, never, never get tired of hearing it, great tune.
as an edit, there's a blue boot knocking about backed with Lew Kirton HITA.

Rumour has it that the Hotel is the Brittania at Standish on the outskirts of Wigan
It was Cassinellis back in the day and was a popular Jazz Funk Venue
Fun times at cassinellis, remember it well

The winde is a little ally of the pedestrian area if wallgate next to Starbucks I think, as you walk down there is a pub on the right next to an art gallery it then bends slightly left to an open area with steps which lead I think to "station road" so you could be right... Philbefore the arcade was built weren't the fire exit doors to mr ms on the winde mick. i vaguely remember you pointing it out to me one night

Yep I heard it the other day, didn't sound like GSH to me though, I've got pieces of a man LP and played it next to the AD, vocals sound different to me, but like said above they could have tampered with it, fantastic track though.

I'm sure there's a product from the chemist you can get like a spirit based solution for removing glue of plasters which have been on the skin for a long time, can't remember what it's called though...Phil

There's so many covers of Louie Louie , who did the original version anybody know?

White Line Fever - Merle Haggard - great song about driving trucks and taking drugs. Superb combination. His Workingman Blues is a good one too.
Nothing about taking drugs, it's all about his life on the road, the white lines are the ones on the road not up his nose, lol ...great song though, used to listen to a lot of c&w in the army on convoys in Germany....Phil

Was it a mint copy like the one auctioned - a lot of them are in poor condition
I sold a NM one about 7 years ago for £750 and had quite a few people ask for it at that price
Having said that it still went for more than I thought it would - I reckoned on £1000
No, it was VG at best with grubby labels but played wonderfully
-
Didn't think montclairs would go for that, I was expecting 7-800 ish, was offered one 3 years ago for less than half that price but my mrs put her foot down, should have kept me gob shut, still a very fine piece of soul music, Phil perry' voice is magic
-
£82.00 ish......bargain there, if I hadn`t been already bidding on something (which I won) I would have had a dabble.
Any member on here won it?
I'd bid upto 131.31, $ ,think I was 3rd highest and would have gone to $150, I was out celebrating daughters engagement and the area where we were had terrible connection to internet and I couldn't get a bid in...argh..no worries, I did win the. Darrell banks for £22( I'm the one who loves) which I was happy with,
I've bought records of them before and there grading is very conservative so whoever won Steve Mancha will not be disappointed . Atb phil
