My fave has to be Edwin Starr, saw him so many times at Leigh casino (Rubens) , but my favourite performance he did was at the parr hall niter in Warrington, never really seen a crowd rush to the stage before unt that night, still got his autograph on a flyer for bank hall miners, burnley.

Hi all, just quick question about stateside, recently went to a record shop in Wigan and bought "impressions big 16" on stateside, the label is black but stateside is written in green, so wandering if stateside written in green is of any significance , ie, rare, reissue ect or nothing at all, great record though and for those interested the shop is static records ,hall gate Wigan, only a small selection of soul, but some funk and 80,s soul..cheers tab phil

99% of my records are 7" and i'd almost always go for that format, however i think some tunes just lend them selves to a 12" mix, Al hudson-spread love to name one, i never want it to end, fantastic tunage imo, but some "northern" given the 12" treatment are total crap,greg perry -it takes heart is just a silly mix and the 7" version is so much better, as sebastian said in an earlier post, it gets straight to the point...atb phil
