  5. It's a MOD world Andy, LOL It was really amusing early on, as I arrived at the venue quite early the young lad behind the bar was playing british beat tunes (The Creation etc) on his lap top as some background music, so as soon as the decks were up and running I jumped behind them and all the British beat he had been playing on the laptop I played on original vinyl, he was absolutely amazed and also gratefull that he had heard his favourite tunes on their original format, it was also amusing later on when some of the youngsters were taking photos of records, as they had never seen the vinyl before, It really was a truly amazing night.

  19. A perfect example of the right song and the right tempo for any occasion
  20. Yep totally agree Chalky I guess I was referring to the beat ballads down tempo stuff that's been posted on this thread, I don't think there is any place for them. Ok for your own home or if that kind of music is advertised for the night. Then people like me know to stay away. Mid to Uptempo, and not particularly 100mph stompers (hope that's clear, i'm getting confused myself now) stuff is what I think goes down well at soul nights and Nighters alike.
  21. Hi Barry, be good to see you mate, Kev knows me too well methinks, he knows i'm always on a wind up, I agree with Phil though, Everything in it's rightfull place, across the board soul nights then yes mix it all up but allnighters, bloody hell NO,NO,NO and especially NOT as someone as indicated at 4 in the morning. So in essence mid tempo - down tempo has it's place in the right place and at the right time.
  22. I aim to please mate, bloody true though How ya doin mate, you off to the York alldayer to hear some proper tunes
  23. My God, all this southern soul shite, pleased i'm a Northerner Dave Godin was spot on.
  24. It's such a pity, more places don't advertise the fact that they play mainly mid-tempo At least then I will know to stay away, instead of wasting my money.
