  1. Mate Am I reading this post right, are you now a promoter? If so 72 to 2012 is a big bloody jump, are you Neo? Is your soul night called the nebuchadnezzar? Hope you find the truth and your night does well, cos I for one am in need of saving, now wheres those bloody pills
  2. Fantastic record for a great price there Kev
  3. Last time I went to Keele, there was a bloody snow blizzard, M1 white out, scary business, we kept going and got there, well it was Keele, you had to

  5. Can I go for Bruce Cloud Jimmy preacher ellie Joe Tubbs Bloody awesome sets that would have encouraged me to go atb dekka
  6. Really respect your honesty, humility to Terry and balls to put up that post, i'm sure you no you get a bit of stick on here about your photo's and dress sense, however, you come across as a really nice guy and i'm sure it's just water off a ducks back. After all, It's just banter and alot of people on here take it far too serious. I may not agree with your take on Soul but keep on keeping on, as I admire your honesty and you staying true to yourself in your beliefs. atb dekka
  7. Not sure what this is all about, however, Looking forward to the outcome of this discussion and the reasoning behind it's removal. Maybe this is the answer to terry's question? Only happy smiley people allowed with positive feedback and don't dare upset people and their precious venues, allegedly.
  8. I must say, I have to agree with this Both roger and bob, don't think they have ever been out of the scene and as Len has indicated can turn their hand to any style and tempo with bang up to date sounds. True gents, probs don't get the respect they deserve, but they do from me
  9. Thats fair enough Phil however, I heard you last year in Leeds gonna hear you again in taddy soon, I wonder if I will change my mind, somehow I think not. ATB Phil
  10. Looking forward to hearing Phil at taddy in september, he again is another DJ who's playlist I eagerly await. Both Adam and Phil have inspired and partially redirected my record buying. So in affect I blame them for me having no money Both are taylor made for the nighter scene, especially the scene I like
  11. Adam topping First and foremost, he knows the nighter scene and he knows the nighter people He is his own man and will not bow to anyone. His music is progressive but will always give respect. I have met the man once but have followed his music through his playlists over the years like a demented stalker. You ask for a man worthy, I may not be the right man to recommend him, but recommend him I do
  12. What a great concept that would be, quick swap round of rooms for DJ's about 10 mins before they were due on. "right jack bugger off to the freestyle room and let Jill play the main room" Wonder how that would go down at 2 room allnighters, Don't particularly do 2 room nighters anymore but would deffo start going again
  13. 1 hour sets I reckon, plenty long enough especially about 3 or 4 in the morning when someones just killed it for you and then hoping someones gonna come and pick you up and blow you away with fantastic uptempo soul music. So yep 1 hour
  14. Not really quite sure which dj's you are referring to, could you please elaborate as i'm intrigued, i'm also intrigued as to which tunes a DJ could play, to get you " up for a dance", please elaborate on that one too. Moving on I believe the general concensus for the allnighter scene is that we all want to see a balance between 'young and old' relatively speaking. Maybe it would help if a promoter could post up a quick resume and reason why he has chosen his DJ's for that particular night. This information could be valuable to people wondering where to go, who to see and what type of music they are likely to hear from all DJ's that night, after all not everyone reads the daily source. Just an idea
  15. Chalky don't take me so serious, It was a bit tongue in cheek. i know how passionate you are and you know we all get wound up. Yourself, Ady, Sean and others are giving, shall we say 'our younger element a chance' We also, all of us need guidance and thats where our older guys come in. I'm sure we all agree that what we need especially in my opinion right now is the right balance. Our passion can border on anger, as sometimes we all feel a little frustrated because we can't channell the passion into the right direction. IMHO Promoters such as yourself, Ady, Sean, Kev and all the others need to get together and work out a bloody strategy, cos it just feels as though we are all tearing the scene apart. Healthy debate is fine but we just keep going around in circles, I look to respected people like yourself to get it sorted out. By the way, sorry for yesterday, I was little tactless
  16. I find this post highly upsetting Not once did Terry mention Burnley in the post you quoted, Burnley is my favourite venue and this sleight is causing me extreme distress. IMHO The dj's who have contributed to the Burnley sound (Karl Heard, Cliff Camfield etc) have helped lift this scene off it's arse and dragged it screaming and punching against all the retro lovers and their prefered venues. New and more youthfull DJ's have to be the future and they must be given a chance, As i'm already on a warning sorry if I upset anyone with this post
  17. Is soul music just about the union of 2 words, or is it about music which touches your soul and can have a deep meaningfull significance to your life. Could it be about a little boy who lost his grandmother just weeks after buying him a record and how that record touches that little boys soul to this day. I ask this one question What then is Soul music, Mr Chalky?
  18. Really don't get all the sentiment, just move to a different building and call it the twisted wheel. After all it wont be the first time. Is that constructive enough chalky
  19. Absolutely SPOT ON. If R.S. is their hero why don't they go see him in Blackpool, his dates are all on soul source. Not sure but i've heard he is doing his summer season with Emu and Spit the Dog, surely good enough for anybody. In fact if they ask the Authorities nicely they may even let him out of his glass case
  20. I think if I had to pick one of the Youth Club Nursery Rhymes, it would have to be: Billy Butler - Right Track There i've said it, now string me up at the nearest lamp post
  21. Sorry mate, but that is so funny Hope you didn't punish the dog, poor thing
  22. Hi Mate Yes I understand where you're coming from, however, my point was how Sallie, Rich and Eddie were given a chance at a prestigious allnighter, one which suited their musical tastes and were all capable of contributing and 'fitting in' to the Burnley policy. Still would like to see you there mate, as a respected DJ who is more than capable of playing at Burnley. atb dekka
  23. This was the last allnighter at Burnley, Lesser known on the allnighter scene getting their chance to shine, except for the residents this list gets rotated, this is how it should be, and not the same old names week in week out, month in month out. 9 till 10 Sallie Reynolds 10 till 11 Rich Evans 11 till 12 Fred Kroll 12 till 1 Geoff Rudd 1 till 2 Stuart Bennett 2 till 3 Cliff Camfield 3 till 4 Danny Price 4 till 5 Eddie Wainwright 5 till 6 Killa
  24. Whats all this about R bloody S, doesn't he already do allnighters at Blackpool, How many more does he want to be involved with? I'm sure Chalky, Ady and Sean would have booked him by now if he was right for their club. Is all this leading up to an appearance at the Stoke back parlour room, with my dads make shift bar at the back of the room. Bloody Hell, there are some amazing DJ's out there, give them buggers a break.
  25. As this thread seems to be alot about Richard Searling, It begs the questions 1) Which reputable (There aren't many about) allnighters will he DJ at? also will those promoters employ him? 2) Will he just be a 'flash in the pan' to bring in soul night punters who then bugger off at 2 o'clock? 3) Will he just be confined to 'oldies' style allnighters (Lots of them about)? Not in the least bit doubting his credibility or his respect atb dekka
