Sold mine over the last few year and always keep an eye on this market, whats funny is that while some particular records always seem to fetch money but others dont sell at all. It seems like the ones on lookalike labels sell better but not always, a good example I saw recently was a Detroit Soul clearly described as not original went for £122 Try selling something like Terrible Tom though and you'd be lucky to get £3 for it! Strange!!
  2. As Ted says - spot on summary

  7. She's safe, there's 3000 miles of atlantic ocean between 'em Sorry for lowering the tone Lorraine
  8. Lorraine that would be er.. rather good (mind blowing really) Just a quick question, there are lots of lesser known or obscure Detroit artists whose records get played over here, I wondered if you have crossed paths with any of them? first one that springs to mind is James Lately who recorded Love, Friends And Money on the Temple label, did you come across him?
  9. Big no from me - I like to be at it as early as possible (10-6 is just right) and no beer??? Wouldnt even think about it
  10. Just thick I reckon
  11. Most of us know its not you Lorraine, a cheap bootleg done like lots of others for the northern soul scene back in the 70s. Not taken seriously at all
  12. Some great stuff on there as usual Mike, must have took some doing For anyone not familiar, highly recommended ebay seller - grading and service is as good as it gets
  13. Hey Lorraine, the pleasure is all ours here trust me Someone mentioned you should write a book, maybe thats too much to ask but when you've got time, any stories about the 60s music scene in Detroit would be most welcome on here Anything you can remember we'd be interested in reading, the people, the music- anything really. All the best
  14. Also one went for £88 on JM's auction last night
  15. Welcome Lorraine, WOW thanks for all your music - absolute legend!!
  16. I'd just like to echo previous comments, had some fantastic times at this event and would like to thank John Poole and everyone else that has been involved (not forgetting Rob Wigley). To see some of "our" artists perform and to meet and talk to them was something special for me - a once in a lifetime opportunity in many cases! The memories, photos & autographs will be some of my most treasured possessions for a long time after the freezing, crap chalets have been forgotten Top job
  17. Not seen for sale that often is it? Suprised he listed it that way round, Weeping Baby is far the better side - had plays from some top jocks recently
  18. Anyone else love the other side, all your goodies? I had this record for 30 years before I really noticed how good it is
  19. Steve L replied to Sheep's post in a topic in Look At Your Box
    Yes
  20. Accused of theft by your mates ?? No I havent but on the subject of this one you never gave me that minty Zachron copy that you promised once upon a time knowing my fetish and desire for such things
  21. This record must have gone way under most peoples radar, its not in JM's price guide 4th edition (although its in the 5th) or in his early bootleg guide and theres no mention in Tim Browns latest guide. Not many saying they can remember it from the 70s either, strange one - great record though!
  22. Just for my own curiosity apart from Dave Taylor how many people can remember this from 76? Hands up please
  23. Been a big fan of this record recently via Andy Dyson plays, I'm gobsmacked that it goes back that far and was booted You never stop learning with this thing!
  24. maybe we could get it from the horses mouth to avoid endless speculation? mick's on here and someone must know butch well enough to contact him and put things straight? having said that is it just a coincidence neither are on at the next lifeline? A big loss to be sure if true but not the end of the world for the scene
  25. Cicero Blake - You're Gonna Be Sorry/ Sad feeling Mar-V-Lus DJ copy £20 A shade under Ex condition, b side has a few light marks Recorded Del £2 -paypal gift preferred Cheers
